It’s almost over! We’re down to the Top 8 here at TEAM YCS Las Vegas, and each of these teams is competing for a chance to be declared the champions of the weekend! For this Top 8 Feature Match, we have James Fitzgerald Altmann of Team Meta Dynasty playing the the Fiendsmith Yummy Deck, while Patrick Jefferson Hoban of Team Road of the King is playing the Tri-Brigade Radiant Typhoon Yummy Deck! Which of these Duelists will make it to the Top 4? Let’s find out!

Duel 1

Altmann won the die roll and chose to go first! He opened with Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, Fiendsmith Engraver, Yummyusment☆Mignon, Lollipo☆Yummy, and Marshmao☆Yummy. He began by activating the effect of Engraver, searching for Fiendsmith’s Sanct. He activated Sanct, then used the Token to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Requiem. Next, he Special Summoned Lollipo☆Yummy, then activated Requiem’s effect, Special Summoning Lacrima the Crimson Tears from the Deck and sending another Engraver to the Graveyard. He then used Lollipo to Link Summon Yummy☆Snatchy and activated its effect, but it was met by Hoban’s Infinite Impermanence. Altmann then used Snatchy and Lacrima to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Sequence, and activated Sequence’s effect, returning Requiem and Engraver to the Deck to Fusion Summon Fiendsmith’s Lacrima. He Special Summoned back Engraver to the field, then used Engraver and Fiendsmith’s Lacrima to Xyz Summon D/D/D Wave High King Caesar! 

Altmann then Normal Summoned Marshmao☆Yummy and used it to Link Summon Linkuriboh. He activated Mignon, and used its effect to Special Summon Lollipo☆Yummy from the Graveyard. Next, he used Linkuriboh and Lollipo to Synchro Summon Cupsy☆Yummy Way, but when he activated its effect, Hoban Chained the effect of Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring! In response, Altmann Chained Cupsy☆Yummy Way’s effect to Special Summon Snatchy and Lollipo from the Graveyard. Altmann used Lollipo’s effect to return Hoban’s Ash Blossom to the Deck, then used Snatchy and Lollipo to Synchro Summon Lollipo☆Yummy Way! He Special Summoned back Marshmao and Lollipo☆Yummy, then used Sequence and Lollipo to Link Summon S:P Little Knight and banish Infinite Impermanence from Hoban’s Graveyard before ending his turn. 

Hoban looked at his hand and knew that he would be unable to break through Altmann’s board, so he conceded the first Duel.

Duel 2

Altmann opened with Lollipo☆Yummy, two copies of Dominus Purge, and two copies of Mulcharmy Fuwalos. Hoban began the second Duel by Normal Summoning Tri-Brigade Kitt. In response to the summon, Altmann activated the effect of Mulcharmy Fuwalos; Hoban Chained the effect of his Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, but Altmann followed up with his second Mulcharmy Fuwalos! Hoban used Kitt to Link Summon Salamangreat Almiraj, and used the effect of Kitt to send Tri-Brigade Springans Kitt to the Graveyard. He Special Summoned back Tri-Brigade Kitt, then Special Summoned Cupsy☆Yummy from hand and searched for Yummy☆Surprise! Next, Hoban used Cupsy and Almiraj to Synchro Summon Cupsy☆Yummy Way, but when he activated its effect, Altmann Chained Dominus Purge! Hoban then used Cupsy☆Yummy Way to Link Summon Yummy☆Snatchy and activated its effect to place Yummyusment☆Mignon on the field, but Altmann Chained the effect of Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit, destroying Snatchy! 

To follow up, Hoban activated Surprise, Special Summoning Snatchy from the Graveyard, then used Mignon’s effect to Special Summon back Cupsy☆Yummy, as well. He then activated the effect of Tri-Brigade Kitt, banishing two monsters from his Graveyard to Special Summon Ancient Warriors Oath – Double Dragon Lords. Hoban Special Summoned Lollipo☆Yummy from hand, returning Altmann’s Dominus Purge to the Deck, then ended his turn. 

Altmann drew Marshmao☆Yummy for turn! He began by activating the effect of Fiendsmith Engraver, searching for Fiendsmith’s Sanct. He activated Sanct, Special Summoning a FIendsmith Token to his side of the field, and here, Hoban activated the effect of Double Dragon Lords, sending Lollipo to the Graveyard to get rid of the Fiendsmith Token! Altmann next activated the effect of Marshmao☆Yummy in hand, Special Summoning it, and in response to the summon, Hoban activated the effect of Snatchy, using Snatchy and Cupsy☆Yummy to Synchro Summon Cooky☆Yummy Way and flip Marshmao face-down. Altmann then Normal Summoned a second copy of Marshmao and used it to Link Summon Linkuriboh! He then Special Summoned his own Lollipo☆Yummy from hand, and used Linkuriboh and Lollipo to Synchro Summon Cupsy☆Yummy Way. He added both Cupsy☆Yummy and Cooky☆Yummy to hand and discarded Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, then Special Summoned out Cooky. Next, he used Cooky to Link Summon Yummy☆Snatchy and place Yummyusment☆Mignon to his side of the field. Hoban Chained the effect of his Cooky☆Yummy Way, Altmann Chained the effect of his Cupsy☆Yummy Way, and then Hoban Chained the effect of Effect Veiler, negating Snatchy’s effect! Altmann Special Summoned Lollipo☆Yummy and Marshmao☆Yummy from his Graveyard as Hoban brought back Yummy☆Snatchy and Cupsy☆Yummy. Hoban drew a card, as Altmann used Lollipo to banish Hoban’s Surprise and Marshmao to place his own Mignon to the field. Afterwards, Hoban activated the effect of Snatchy, using Snatchy and Lollipo to Synchro Summon Lollipo☆Yummy Way, bringing back both Cupsy and Lollipo to the field. 

Altmann used Marshmao and Snatchy to Synchro Summon Lollipo☆Yummy Way and Special Summon back both Cooky☆Yummy and Marshmao☆Yummy, then used them both to Link Summon Reprodocus! He activated its effect, turning Lollipo☆Yummy Way into a Fiend, then Link Summoned Fiendsmith’s Requiem. He then used Requiem’s effect to Special Summon Lacrima the Crimson Tears from the Deck and send Fiendsmith Engraver to the Graveyard. Next, he used Reprodocus and Lacrima to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Sequence, then used Sequence’s effect to Fusion Summon Fiendsmith’s Desirae! He used Sequence and Lollipo to Link Summon Sky Striker Ace – Camellia, used Camellia to Link Summon Sky Striker Ace – Kagari, then Special Summoned Cupsy☆Yummy from hand and searched for his own copy of Yummy☆Surprise. He equipped Sequence to Desirae and activated Desirae’s effect, as Hoban Chained Lollipo☆Yummy Way’s effect to Special Summon back Snatchy to the field, so Altmann negated the effects of Mignon and Double Dragon Lords. Altmann activated Surprise, Special Summoning back Lollipo☆Yummy Way from the Graveyard, and proceeded to the Battle Phase. However, he had forgotten that he activated Fiendsmith’s Sanct earlier in the turn, so he was only able to attack with Fiend monsters! He used Fiendsmith’s Desirae to attack Snatchy, then proceeded to Main Phase 2. Altmann used Kagari and Cupsy to Synchro Summon Cooky☆Yummy Way in the Extra Monster Zone, then ended his turn.

Hoban started his next turn by activating Piri Reis Map. However, at this time, both of Hoban’s teammates won their respective matches, and Team Road of the King was declared the winner!
