This is the final round of Day 1 here at TEAM YCS Las Vegas; both teams are on the bubble for Day 2. 

Team Ojamarried Men is from Boise, Idaho, and they’re one of our Bounty Teams this weekend! Team NorthBound SouthBound is from San Diego, California!

Achiu is using Azamina Magnet Mitsurugi, while Yousef is playing Lunalight! Both decks have explosive game plans that are centered around getting quick wins, but which one will make it to Day 2?

Duel One

Yousef won the dice roll and chose to start the Duel. 

Yousef didn’t do anything! He ended his turn!

Achiu had Mitsurugi no Mikoto, Kusanagi, Ame no Murakumo no Mitsurugi, Duoterion, Triple Tactics Talent, and Mitsurugi Ritual. He drew Mitsurugi Prayers, and Yousef activated Mulcharmy Purulia during the Draw Phase.

Achiu activated Duoterion and searched for Magnet Bonding. He then activated Magnet Bonding to add Conduction Warrior Linear Magnum Plus Minus. Achiu Special Summoned Linear Magnum by sending Beta the Electromagnet Warrior and Magnet Warrior Sigma Plus from his Deck to the Graveyard. He then activated Sigma Plus and Special Summoned back Beta; used its effect, but was stopped by Infinite Impermanence. Then Yousef activated Mulcharmy Fuwalos!

Achiu activated Mitsurugi Ritual and Special Summoned Ame no Murakumo no Mitsurugi from his hand by Tributing Mitsurugi no Mikoto, Saji, and Mitsurugi no Mikoto, Aramasa from his Deck. He used Saji and Aramasa’s effects in his Graveyard and added Habakiri and another copy of Mitsurugi Ritual. Achiu then activated Triple Tactics Talent and looked at Yousef’s hand. 

Yousef revealed Lunalight Tiger, Luna Light Perfume, Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, and Heavy Polymerization. Achiu sent the Ash Blossom back into Yousef’s Deck.

Achiu activated Linear Magnum’s effect and gained the stats from Beta, then went into his Battle Phase and knocked out Yousef’s Life Points!

Duel Two

Yousef wanted to try starting first again. He went into the Main Phase and activated Fire Formation – Tenki, he added Lunalight Gold Leo to his hand. Yousef then activated Lunalight Masquerade and sent Lunalight Silver Hound to the Graveyard. He activated Silver Hound’s effect and Special Summoned Lunalight Kaleido Chick. Yousef then used its effect and sent Lunalight Cat Dancer to the Graveyard. 

Yousef then Normal Summoned Gold Leo and activated its effect to add and send Lunalight Yellow Marten, he activated Yellow Marten and added Lunalight Fusion. Yousef activated Luna Light Perfume and Special Summoned Yellow Marten, then Fusion Summoned Lunalight Perfume Dancer with Lunalight Fusion. He activated Perfume Dancer’s effect and added another Perfume. Yousef activated his Perfume and Special Summoned back his Kaleido Chick, then used Perfume Dancer’s effect and bounced his Masquerade. He banished Perfume and discarded Masquerade to add Lunalight Black Sheep.

Then, Yousef quickly discarded Black Sheep to add Polymerization, and activated Gold Leo’s effect to add back the Black Sheep. Yousef activated Kaleido Chick and sent Lunalight Leo Dancer. He used Polymerization with Gold Leo, Kaleido Chick, Black Sheep, and Perfume Dancer for Lunalight Liger Dancer! He activated Kaleido Chick and Black Sheep to add back his Gold Leo and Polymerization. Yousef then banished his other Perfume and discarded Triple Tactics Talent to add Lunalight Tiger. He activated it and brought back Kaleido Chick. Then, Yousef used Yellow Marten and bounced Tiger into his hand. He sent Emerald Bird to the Graveyard with Kaleido Chick’s effect, and then Xyz Summoned Number 41: Bagooska the Terribly Tired Tapir. He ended his turn.

Achiu looked at his hand of Futsu no Mitama no Mitsurugi, Mitsurugi Prayers, Rank-Up Magic Argent Chaos Force, The Hallowed Azamina, and Evenly Matched. He drew Pre-Preparation of Rites! He went to the Main Phase and activated Pre-Preparation of Rites but was stopped by Yousef’s Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. Achiu followed it up with Mitsurugi Prayers and Tributed his Futsu no Mitama no Mitsurugi. He added Ame no Habakiri no Mitsurugi, then used Futsu’s effect and added Mitsurugi Ritual. 

Achiu activated Ritual to Special Summon from his hand. Ame no Habakiri no Mitsurugi was Ritual Summoned using Mitsurugi no Mikoto, Kusanagi, and Mitsurugi no Mikoto, Saji from the Deck. He activated both effects and added back the Ritual and grabbed a Mitsurugi Mirror from his Deck. 

Achiu then activated Mitsurugi Ritual to Ritual Summon a monster from his Deck. Ame no Murakumo no Mitsurugi was Ritual Summoned by Tributing Habakiri. Then he activated Habakiri and added another Murakumo. After the search, Yousef activated Liger Dancer and cleared Achiu’s field. He went into the Battle Phase and activated Evenly Matched! Yousef banished his Silver Hound and Perfume Dancer to negate the Evenly Matched!

Without any other plays, Achiu conceded the game! We are going to a third Duel!

Duel Three

Achiu chose to go first for the final Duel of the day! The two exchanged a friendly fist bump to start things off.

Achiu started with two copies of Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, Duoterion, Mitsurugi Mirror, and Diabellstar the Black Witch.

He activated Duoterion and added Magnet Bonding. Achiu then Special Summoned Diabellstar by sending an Ash Blossom to the Graveyard. He used its effect and Set and activated Deception of the Sinful Spoils. He then banished Diabellstar to Special Summon Dark Magician of Destruction, and he activated its effect, but was stopped by Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. 

Achiu then used Deception’s effect and Tributed his Dark Magician to get The Hallowed Azamina. He activated Magnet Bonding and added Conduction Warrior Linear Magnum Plus Minus to his hand, then Special Summoned it by sending Sigma Plus and Beta from his Deck to the Graveyard. Achiu tried to use Sigma Plus to bring back Beta but was stopped by Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion. He then used Hallowed Azamina to Special Summon Azamina Ilia Silvia. 

Achiu went to his End Phase and reset his Deception onto the field. Then, he ended his turn.

Yousef drew for his turn and looked over his hand. He activated Tri-Brigade Fraktall and sent Silver Hound to the Graveyard. Yousef tried to use Silver Hound but was stopped by Achiu’s Ash Blossom. Yousef then used Black Sheep and added Polymerization. 

Yousef activated Luna Light Perfume and targeted his Black Sheep, then he Normal Summoned Mulcharmy Fuwalos. He Link Summoned Salamangreat Almiraj using Fuwalos, then Link Summoned S:P Little Knight! He activated Little Knight’s effect and Azamina Ilia Silvia. Achiu looked thought for a moment and then banished his Ilia Silvia. 

Yousef banished Perfume from his Graveyard and discarded Polymerization to add Lunalight Wolf. He placed Wolf in the Pendulum Zone and activated its effect, banishing Silver Hound and Black Sheep to Fusion Summon Lunalight Perfume Dancer. Yousef wanted to use his Perfume Dancer’s effect, but knew he didn’t have any more targets.

He used Perfume Dancer and bounced Wolf, then ended his turn. 

Achiu drew Deception of the Sinful Spoils and went into his Main Phase. He moved into the Battle Phase and had Conduction Warrior Linear Magnum Plus Minus attack over Perfume Dancer. 

In his Main Phase 2, he Set 1 card and ended his turn.

Yousef drew and activated Foolish Burial! He sent a Silver Hound to the Graveyard and then used its effect to Special Summon Lunalight Kaleido Chick from his Deck. Yousef activated Kaleido Chick and sent Lunalight Yellow Marten to the Graveyard, then used Yellow Marten and returned his Kaleido Chick to his hand. He Normal Summoned Kaleido Chick and Xyz Summoned Brotherhood of the Fire Fist – Tiger King. Yousef activated its effect and grabbed Fire Formation – Tenki, which then grabbed Lunalight Tiger. He activated Tiger King and detached Kaleido Chick to negate all the non-Beast-Warrior monsters on the field. 

Yousef Link Summoned Cross-Sheep using S:P and Tiger King, then activated Lunalight Tiger and brought back Kaleido Chick. He used its effect to become Lunalight Leo Dancer, and then activated Lunalight Wolf.

Yousef used Wolf’s effect and banished his Leo Dancer, Silver Hound, Perfume Dancer, and Kaleido Chick for Lunalight Liger Dancer! He Fusion Summoned it under his Cross-Sheep and Special Summoned back Fraktall. He activated Liger Dancer and then attacked for the game!

Moments before this happened, both of Yousef’s teammates announced that it was up to him, and he did it! Team Northbound Southbound just locked in their spot in Day 2 here at TEAM YCS Las Vegas!
