Welcome to Round 2 of TEAM YCS Las Vegas! We’ve got Yacine Sahli, from Montreal, QC. He’s representing Team Road of the King, with his Fiendsmith Yummy Deck! His opponent is Corin Lozano, from Kansas City, MO, representing The Sipes Fan Club. Who, or what, is Sipes? A local legendary Duelist from Kansas City, it seems, but he may be a cryptid. It’s hard to tell. Either way, Lozano’s brought Lunalight to this Feature Match!

Duel 1

Sahli won the dice roll and played first, with a hand of Cooky☆Yummy, Yummyusment☆Mignon, Lollipo☆Yummy, Cupsy☆Yummy, and Infinite Impermanence.

He led with Lollipo☆Yummy. He Link Summoned Yummy★Snatchy, then Special Summoned Cupsy to add Yummy☆Surprise to his hand. He Synchro Summoned Cupsy★Yummy Way, which put Marshmao☆Yummy and another Cupsy in his hand, and he discarded the Marshmao. He played the Surprise to get Marshmao on the field, and Marshmao put Surprise back in his hand. He used Marshmao to Link Summon Linkuriboh, then played Mignon to Special Summon Cupsy. He Synchro Summoned Lollipo★Yummy Way, revived two Yummy monsters, and Link Summoned Reprodocus. Reprodocus turned Lollipo★Yummy Way into a Fiend, and he used it to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Requiem. Requiem brought Lacrima the Crimson Tears to the field, which sent Fiendsmith Engraver to the Graveyard. He used Lacrima and Reprodocus to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Sequence, and Fusion Summoned Fiendsmith’s Lacrima. Fiendsmith’s Lacrima returned Engraver to his hand, and he used Engraver to add Fiendsmith’s Tract to his hand. He played that to add Fabled Lurrie to his hand and discarded it, letting him Special Summon Lurrie. He used Lurrie and a Yummy to Link Summon S:P Little Knight. Then, he put Lurrie back in the Deck to Special Summon Engraver from the Graveyard, and stacked it with Fiendsmith’s Lacrima for D/D/D Wave High King Caesar. He Set Surprise and Infinite Impermanence to finish the turn.

Lozano started with Harpie’s Feather Duster! Sahli Chained Cupsy★Yummy Way, then flipped Surprise to Special Summon Lollipo★Yummy Way. Cupsy★Yummy Way then brought Snatchy and Cupsy to the field. Harpie’s Feather Duster destroyed the other cards. Sahli’s Cupsy let him draw Lurrie. Lozano continued, playing Book of Eclipse! Sahli consulted his team mate, and decided to tag Lollipo★Yummy Way out for Lollipo and Marshmao.

Lozano continued his turn, and Normal Summoned Lunalight Kaleido Chick, which sent Lunalight Gold Leo to the Graveyard. He played Luna Light Perfume to Special Summon Gold Leo, and used its effect. Sahli responded with S:P Little Knight to banish itself and Kaleido Chick, but Lozano had Forbidden Droplet! He sent Kaleido Chick to the Graveyard to negate S:P Little Knight. Gold Leo then put Lunalight Silver Hound in his hand, and discarded it. That let him Special Summon another Kaleido Chick, which sent Lunalight Black Sheep to the Graveyard. Gold Leo put that back in his hand, and Sahli realized the Duel was going to be over soon – he conceded to save time, and the Duelists moved to their Side Decks.

Duel 2

Sahli began this time with Triple Tactics Talent, Yummyusment★Acroquey, Marshmao, Engraver, and Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring.

Sahli began the second Duel by Special Summoning Marshmao, and Link Summoned Snatchy. It put Mignon on the field, and he used the Field Spell to revive Marshmao. Engraver put Tract into his hand, and he used that for Lurrie, discarding it. Lurrie returned to the field and was promptly used to play Requiem, which brought Lacrima the Crimson Tears to the field, sending another Engraver to the Graveyard. He used Marshmao and Snatchy to Synchro Summon Cupsy★Yummy Way, putting Cupsy☆Yummy and Cooky☆Yummy in his hand, then discarding Cooky. He played Acrouey, then Special Summoned Cupsy. It put Surprise in his hand, which revived Marshmao, which in turn got Surprise back in hand. He used Marshmao to Link Summon Linkuriboh, then Synchro Summoned Reprodocus. He used it to turn his Lollipo★Yummy Way into a Fiend, letting him Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Sequence, which Fusion Summoned Fiendsmith’s Lacrima. Fiendsmith’s Lacrima revived Engraver. He used Lacrima the Crimson Tears and Sequence to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Desirae. Then he used Engraver and Fiendsmith’s Lacrima to Xyz Summon D/D/D Wave High King Caesar. He equipped Seuence to Desirae, then Set Infinite Impermanence.

Lozano started with Lightning Storm to destroy Sahli’s Spells and Traps! Sahli responded with Cupsy★Yummy Way, then activated Desirae to try and negate Lightning Storm. Lozano responded with Forbidden Droplet! He sent the still on-field Lightning Storm to the Graveyard. Since he’d sent a Spell Card to the Graveyard, Sahli was also unable to activate Yummy☆Surprise! Droplet negated Desirae, Cupsy★Yummy Way brought Lollipo★Yummy Way and Marshmao to the field, and Lightning Storm wiped out Sahli’s Spells and Traps. In a new Chain, Marshmao put Assist★Yummy! on the field. Lozano now activated the same card as last time – Book of Eclipse! Sahli had Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring to negate it this time. Lozano Normal Summoned Gold Leo and activated its effect. Sahli responded with Lollipo★Yummy Way, tagging out for Snatchy and Cooky. Gold Leo put Lunalight Yellow Marten in his hand, and he discarded it. Cooky destroyed Gold Leo, but Gold Leo was still able to add Yellow Marten to his hand, and Yellow Marten’s effect put Lunalight Masquerade in his hand. He played Masquerade, sending Silver Hound to the Graveyard – Sahli negated Silver Hound with Caesar. Lozano played Polymerization, and Sahli negated that with Caesar’s last material. Lozano had run out of gas, and conceded!

Duel 3

For the final Duel, Sahli opened with Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit, Effect Veiler, Lurrie, Infinite Impermanence, and Mignon.

Lozano led with the effect of Tri-Brigade Fraktall, sending Silver Hound to the Graveyard. He used that to Special Summon Gold Leo. Sahli considered his options with his team mate, and negated Gold Leo with Infinite Impermanence. Lozano followed up with Foolish Burial, sending Yellow Marten to the Graveyard. He used that effect to put Lunalight Fusion in his hand. He Normal Summoned Kaleido Chick, which sent Lunalight Leo Dancer to the Graveyard as the cost for its effect, and Sahli destroyed Kaleido Chick with Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit. Lozano Special Summoned Yellow Marten by returning Gold Leo to his hand. Then he played Lunalight Fusion, fusing Yellow Marten and Gold Leo into Lunalight Perfume Dancer – but Sahli negated that with Effect Veiler. Lozano activated Triple Tactics Thrust, putting The Black Goat Laughs face-down on the field as his final play.

Sahli drew another Effect Veiler. Sahli and his team mate agreed, the best move was to pass the turn and not play into Lozano’s known Trap Card.

Lozano sent Perfume Dancer to attack directly, but had no other moves!

Sahli drew Sky Striker Mecha – Hornet Drones. He played it to get a Sky Striker Ace Token, then Normal Summoned Lurrie. He used Lurrie to Link Summon Requiem, and activated its effect – Lozano used Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring to negate it. Sahli used his Token to Link Summon Sky Striker Ace – Kagari, which returned Hornet Drones to his hand. He Set it.

Lozano played Pot of Prosperity! He banished six cards from his Extra Deck, digging six cards into his Deck. He added Luna Light Perfume to his hand, and used it to revive Gold Leo. He activated its effect, and Sahli used his second Effect Veiler. Perfume Dancer put Gold Leo in his hand, and he banished Perfume from his Graveyard and added Lunalight Wolf to his hand. He played Wolf, and Fusion Summoned Luna Light Liger Dancer! It destroyed Kagari, dealing half damage thanks to Pot of Prosperity. In Main Phase 2, he used another Triple Tactics Thrust to Set Dominus Impulse.

Sahli drew Lacrima the Crimson Tears and Normal Summoned it, sending Engraver to the Graveyard. He Special Summoned Engraver by returning Requiem to the Extra Deck. He knew he wouldn’t be able to overcome Liger Dancer…

…but just then, his other team mates won their Matches! The power of teamwork pulled through, and Team Road of the King wins this Match!
