It’s Round 5 here at the 300th YCS in Richmond, and these two Advanced Duelists have perfect 4-0 records. Trevor Lee Parker is playing the Tri-Brigade Radiant Typhoon Deck, an interesting combination of themes that features multiple new cards from Burst Protocol. Jancarlos Cintron Baez is playing Mitsurugi Yummy, a combination that has been very successful over the last several months. Which of these Duelists will keep their undefeated records alive? It’s time to Duel!

Duel 1

Parker won the die roll and chose to go first! He opened with Radiant Typhoon Eldam, Radiant Typhoon Fonix, the Great Flame, Radiant Typhoon Swen, Radiant Typhoon Ascendance, and Tri-Brigade Roar. He started by Special Summoning Eldam and activating its effect, and Cintron responded by activating the effect of Mulcharmy Fuwalos! Parker searched for Radiant Typhoon Krosea, then Special Summoned Radiant Typhoon Swen and searched for Radiant Typhoon Chant. Next, Parker used Swen and Eldam to Link Summon Radiant Typhoon Varuroon, the Marine Eidolon and search for Mystical Space Typhoon! He then activated Chant, searching for Radiant Typhoon Meghala, and on resolution, activated the effect of Varuroon to place Radiant Typhoon Mandate to his Spell/Trap Zone face-up. 

Parker activated Ascendance, searching for Mystical Space Typhoon, and Chained Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Ascendance! He Set Ascendance to his backrow, then Special Summoned Krosea and activated its effect to search for Radiant Typhoon Vision and add Mystical Space Typhoon from his Graveyard back to hand. He then activated Vision, drawing The Fallen & The Virtuous and Mulcharmy Fuwalos and discarding Fonix. He activated The Fallen & The Virtuous, sending Albion the Branded Dragon to the Graveyard to destroy Mandate. Finally, he Special Summoned Meghala from hand and Set 4 cards to his backrow; during the End Phase, he used Albion’s effect to Set The Fallen & The Virtuous to his backrow, then ended his turn. 

Cintron began his turn by Normal Summoning Mitsurugi no Mikoto, Saji and activating its effect; Parker responded with Tri-Brigade Roar, sending Tri-Brigade Hammer to the Graveyard, but Cintron Chained Mitusurgi Prayers, Tributing Saji! Cintron resolved Prayers to search for Ame no Murakumo no Mitsurugi and Special Summon Mitsurugi no Mikoto, Kusanagi, as well as Saji’s effect to search for MItsurugi Ritual. Next, Cintron activated Kusanagi’s effect to add Prayers back to hand, as Parker activated Varuroon’s effect to place Mandate to his backrow once again. Cintron then Set a card to his backrow and activated Mitsurugi Ritual! Parker Chained Mystical Space Typhoon, targeting the face-down card, but Cintron responded with Yummy☆Surprise. However, Parker had another copy of Mystical Space Typhoon and Chained it to destroy Mandate, then Chained the effect of Mandate to negate Mitsurugi Ritual! Cintron resolved Surprise to Special Summon Cupsy☆Yummy from hand as Parker shuffled 3 Quick-Play Spells back into his Deck and drew a card. In a new Chain, Cintron resolved Cupsy’s effect to search for Marshmao☆Yummy, as Parker Special Summoned Fonix from hand and used Meghala to Special Summon Radiant Typhoon Varuroon, the Vibrant Vortex from the Deck. Next, Parker activated Radiant Typhoon Ascendance, Special Summoning Radiant Typhoon Eldam from the Graveyard, and Chained the effect of Fonix to return Kusanagi and Cupsy to the Deck as he searched for Swen. Cintron activated Yummyusment☆Mignon, then activated the effect of Marshmao☆Yummy in hand. However, Parker Chained the effect of Varuroon, preventing Marshmao from being Special Summoned. Cintron couldn’t push through the board any further and conceded. 

Duel 2
Parker’s opening hand contained Mulcharmy Fuwalos, Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, Tri-Brigade Fraktall, and two copies of Shiina, Twin Tempests of Celestial Thunder. 

Cintron began the Duel by Normal Summoning Cooky☆Yummy. Parker activated the effect of Mulcharmy Fuwalos, but Cintron responded with the effect of Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring! Cintron used Cooky to Link Summon Yummy☆Snatchy and place Yummyusment☆Mignon to the field, then Special Summoned Cupsy☆Yummy from hand and searched for Yummy☆Surprise! He used Cupsy and Snatchy to Synchro Summon Cupsy☆Yummy Way, and when Parker tried to negate its effect with the effect of Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, Cintron Chained Crossout Designator! Cintron searched for Lollipo☆Yummy and Marshmao☆Yummy, then discarded Surprise before Special Summoning Marshmao from hand and adding back Surprise. 

Cintron used Marshmao to Link Summon Linkuriboh, then used Mignon’s effect to bring back Marshmao. He used Marshmao and LInkuriboh to make Lollipo☆Yummy Way and bring back Cupsy and Marshmao, then used Cupsy and Marshmao to make Ukanomitsune-no-Onari and Set Crossout Designator to the backrow. He Special Summoned Lollipo☆Yummy from hand, then used Lollipo and Lollipo☆Yummy Way to Link Summon I:P Masquerena, Set a card to his backrow, and ended his turn. 

Parker drew Radiant Typhoon Mandate for turn! He knew that he could not push through Cintron’s board with the cards he had in hand, and conceded.

Duel 3

Parker chose to go first! He opened with Called by the Grave, D.D. Crow, Radiant Typhoon Manifestation, Tri-Brigade Springans Kitt, and The Fallen & The Virtuous. During the Draw Phase, Cintron activated the effect of Mulcharmy Purulia! Parker activated Manifestation, searching for Mystical Space Typhoon, then Set 3 cards to his backrow and ended his turn. 

Cintron started his turn by Special Summoning Marshmao☆Yummy from hand and using it to Link Summon Yummy☆Snatchy! He placed Yummyusment☆Mignon to his side of the field, but when he activated its effect, Parker responded with Mystical Space Typhoon, destroying it before he could resolve its effect! Cintron entered the Battle Phase and attacked Parker’s Life Points directly with Snatchy, then in Main Phase 2, Set a card to his backrow. During the End Phase, Parker activated The Fallen & The Virtuous, sending The Dragon that Devours the Dogma to the Graveyard to destroy Cintron’s Snatchy, then added Tri-Brigade Fraktall to hand. 

Parker drew Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring for turn! He began by Normal Summoning Fraktall, then Special Summoned Springans Kitt from hand. Next, he activated Fraktall’s effect, banishing Dragon to Special Summon Yummy☆Snatchy! He sent Fraktall to the Graveyard to send Tri-Brigade Nervall to the Graveyard, then searched for Tri-Brigade Kitt. He used Tri-Brigade Springans Kitt and Yummy☆Snatchy to Link Summon Tri-Brigade Ferrijit the Barren Blossom, activated Springans Kitt’s effect to Special Summon back Nervall, then used Ferrijit’s effect to Special Summon Tri-Brigade Kitt. Next, he activated Nervall’s effect, Special Summoning Ancient Warriors Oath – Double Dragon Lords from the Extra Deck. Parker then used Ferrijit and Nervall to Link Summon Tri-Brigade Arms Mouser! He used Mouser’s effect to send Fraktall and Tri-Brigade Arms Bucephalus II to the Graveyard, then activated Bucephalos’ effect to send Hraesvelgr, the Desperate Doom Eagle, as well. He activated Kitt’s effect, banishing 4 monsters from his Graveyard to Special Summon Tri-Brigade Shuraig the Ominous Omen, then using Shuraig’s effect to banish Cintron’s face-down Mitsurugi Mirror. Parker used Shuraig and Mouser to Link Summon Tri-Brigade Rugal the Silver Sheller, then used Shuraig’s effect to search for Radiant Typhoon Swen. He Special Summoned Swen and searched for Radiant Typhoon Chant, used Chant to search for Radiant Typhoon Eldam, then Special Summoned Eldam and searched for Radiant Typhoon Krosea. Parker entered the Battle Phase and attacked directly with all of his monsters, leaving Cintron with only 500 Life Points remaining! Finally, Parker activated Called by the Grave, banishing Yummy☆Snatchy from Cintron’s Graveyard. Cintron knew that he wouldn’t be able to respond and push through Parker’s board, so he conceded. 

With the victory, Parker moves on here at the 300th YCS in Richmond with an impressive 5-0 record!
