Duel One
Friedman opened up Duel 1 with Blazing Cartesia, the Virtuous; Dracotail Mululu; Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit; Polymerization; and Shaddoll Dragon.

He Normal Summoned Cartesia and then activated its effect to fuse Dracotail Mululu and Shaddoll Dragon from his hand. He Fusion Summoned Dracotail Arthalion and activated its effect targeting both monsters in his Graveyard to return them to his hand. He Chained the Mululu’s effect, but lost out on that effect to Rodriguez’s Skull Meiser. He returned Mululu and Dragon from his Graveyard to his hand with Arthalion’s effect and then activated Polymerization to fuse Mululu with Cartesia and Fusion Summon Secreterion Dragon. He activated Secreterion Dragon’s effect, but lost out to Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion.
Rodriguez banished Regenesis Dragon from his hand to Special Summon Replicard LAD from his hand. He activated its effect, but lost out to Friedman’s Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit, which destroyed the Replicard LAD and prevented it from Special Summoning a monster from the Deck with its effect. Rodriguez Set a card to his back row and then ended his turn.
Friedman drew Dracotail Lukias and then activated the effect of Secreterion Dragon to Special Summon Mululu from his Graveyard and return Blazing Cartesia from his Graveyard to his Deck. He activated Mululu’s effect to fuse it with Shaddoll Dragon and Summon Dracotail Gulamel. He activated the effects of Mululu and Dragon, targeting Rodriguez’s face-down Regenesis Birth with Dragon’s effect to destroy it. Rodriguez Chained the Birth and put Gulamel face-down by sending Regenesis Archfiend from his Deck to his Graveyard. Friedman Set Ketu Dracotail from his Deck with Mululu’s effect and activated it to add Dracotail Faimena from his Deck to his hand. Friedman Normal Summoned Dracotail Lukias and activated its effect to add Dracotail Urgula from his Deck to his hand. Friedman activated Faimena’s effect to fuse Urgula with Gulamel and Summon another Gulamel. Rodriguez immediately conceded, realizing he would be defeated by direct attacks from Arthalion, Gulamel, Lukias, and Secreterion Dragon.

Joshua Friedman uses his Shaddoll Dracotail Deck to take a quick victory in the first Duel of the Match! Rodriguez chose to go second in Duel 2!
Duel Two
Friedman opened up Duel 2 with Rahu Dracotail, Dracotail Phryxul, Dracotail Lukias, Dracotail Pan, and Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit. He activated Rahu Dracotail, prompting Rodriguez to Chain the effect of Mulcharmy Fuwalos. Friedman fused Pan from his hand with Mululu from his Deck to Special Summon Dracotail Gulamel and then activated the effects of Mululu and Pan in the Graveyard. Rodriguez Chained Skull Meister to negate the Pan’s effect and then Mululu’s effect resolved to Set Ketu Dracotail from his Deck to his hand. Rodriguez activated the effect of Mulcharmy Purulia from his hand next, and then Friedman flipped Ketu Dracotail to add Dracotail Faimena from his Deck to his hand. He ended his turn without Summoning any more monsters.
Rodriguez drew a card and then ended his turn with no play!

Friedman drew Shaddoll Fusion! He Normal Summoned Dracotail Phryxul and activated its effect by targeting Mululu in his Graveyard. He tried to Special Summon it, but Rodriguez Chained D.D. Crow from his hand to banish the Mululu so that it couldn’t be Summoned! Next, Friedman activated the effect of Faimena in his hand. He fused Phryxul on his field with Lukias in his hand to Special Summon Arthalion. He targeted the Faimena in his Graveyard with Arthalion’s effect and Chained the effects of Lukias and Phryxul. Rodriguez Chained the effect of D.D. Crow to banish the Faimena and Friedman Set Rahu Dracotail and Dracotail Sting with the effects of Phryxul and Lukias. He flipped Rahu Dracotail next, fusing Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit from his hand with an Urgula in his Deck to Summon Dracotail Gulamel. Direct attacks from both copies of Gulamel and the the Arthalion wiped out all of Rodriguez’s Life Points, as Rodriguez activated the effect of one final copy of D.D.
