We’re at Round 4 of the 300th YCS in Virginia, and these Advanced Duelists are coming in with perfect 3-0 records! In this round’s Feature Match, we have Morgan Wesley Goldsmith, piloting the Branded Dracotail Deck, which recently received a significant boost in Fallen of the White Dragon. We also have Jacob William Moore piloting the Radiant Typhoon Deck, another strategy that received multiple pieces of support in Burst Protocol. Which of these Duelists will remain perfect? Let’s find out! It’s time to Duel!

Duel 1

Moore won the die roll and chose to go first! He opened with Radiant Typhoon Fonix, the Great Flame, Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, Forbidden Droplet, Radiant Typhoon Krosea, and Mystical Space Typhoon. During the Standby Phase, Goldsmith activated the effect of Mulcharmy Purulia, but Moore Chained the effect of Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring! Goldsmith followed up, however, by activating the effect of Mulcharmy Fuwalos. Moore proceeded to the Main Phase, where he Set a card to his backrow, then activated Mystical Space Typhoon, destroying the face-down Droplet. Next, Moore Special Summoned Krosea and activated its effect to search for Mystical Space Typhoon and Radiant Typhoon Eldam from his Deck. He Special Summoned Eldam and searched for Radiant Typhoon Swen, then Special Summoned Swen and searched for Radiant Typhoon Chant. He used Eldam and Swen to Link Summon Radiant Typhoon Varuroon, the Marine Eidolon and search for another Mystical Space Typhoon, then activated Chant, searching for Radiant Typhoon Meghala. This allowed him to activate the effect of Varuroon to place Radiant Typhoon Mandate to his Spell/Trap Zone! Moore used Mandate’s effect to return three Quick-Play Spell Cards, including Radiant Typhoon Chant, to the Deck and drew another copy of Forbidden Droplet. Finally, Moore Special Summoned Meghala, Set three cards to his backrow, and ended his turn.

Goldsmith began his turn by activating Rahu Dracotail! However, Moore Chained Mystical Space Typhoon, then followed up by activating Mandate’s effect to negate Rahu. In the following Chain, Moore Special Summoned Radiant Typhoon Fonix, the Great Flame from hand, in addition to activating Meghala’s effect to Special Summon Radiant Typhoon Varuroon, the Vibrant Vortex from the Deck. Next, Goldsmith Normal Summoned Dracotail Mululu and activated its effect, but Moore Chained Forbidden Droplet, sending Krosea to the Graveyard to negate Mululu’s effect! Moore then activated Branded Fusion, but Moore Chained his final copy of Mystical Space Typhoon, then Chained Mandate’s effect to negate Branded Fusion! Without the resources to push through Moore’s board, Goldsmith conceded.

Duel 2

Goldsmith began by activating the effect of Albion the Shrouded Dragon, sending Fallen of the White Dragon from his Deck to the Graveyard, returning Albion to the Deck, then drawing a card. Next, Goldsmith Normal Summoned Dracotail Lukias and searched for Dracotail Faimena, then activated Faimena’s effect, using Lukias from the field along with Dracotail Pan and Fallen of Albaz from hand to Fusion Summon Dracotail Arthalion! He added Faimena and White Dragon back to hand, and Set Rahu Dracotail and Ketu Dracotail to his backrow. Goldsmith activated Ketu, searching for Dracotail Phryxul, then activated Rahu Dracotail, using Dracotail Urgula from Deck and Faimena from hand to Fusion Summon Dracotail Gulamel! He Set Dracotail Flame and Dracotail Sting to his backrow, then activated Urgula’s effect, returning it to the bottom of the Deck and adding Faimena back to hand. He Special Summoned Fallen of the White Dragon by sending Albion the Branded Dragon from his Extra Deck to the Graveyard and Special Summoned Incredible Ecclesia, the Virtuous from the Deck. Finally, he Set a card to his backrow, and used the effect of Albion to Set The Fallen & The Virtuous to his backrow before ending his turn.

Moore opened with Super Polymerization, Radiant Typhoon Chant, Radiant Typhoon Eldam, and two copies of Radiant Typhoon Swen, then drew Double Cyclone for turn! During the Draw Phase, he activated Radiant Typhoon Chant, attempting to search for Mystical Space Typhoon, but Goldsmith Chained the effect of Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion. Next, Moore activated Super Polymerization, discarding one of his copies of Swen and using Gulamel and Arthalion to Fusion Summon Secreterion Dragon! Afterwards, Goldsmith activated The Fallen & The Virtuous, destroying Moore’s Secreterion Dragon. In the Main Phase, Moore Normal Summoned Radiant Typhoon Swen and activated its effect; Goldsmith Chained the effect of Faimena, using White Dragon and Ecclesia to Fusion Summon Albion the Sanctifire Dragon as Moore searched for Mystical Space Typhoon. Goldsmith activated Gulamel’s effect to Special Summon it from the Graveyard. Moore activated Mystical Space Typhoon, targeting one of Goldsmith’s face-down cards, and Goldsmith responded with Dracotail Flame; Moore Chained Double Cyclone, but Goldsmith activated Dragon’s Mind as Chain Link 4! Moore didn’t have any other ways to push, while Goldsmith still had Albion on the field, so Moore chose to concede.

Duel 3

Moore opened with Radiant Typhoon Mandate, Mystical Space Typhoon, Dimensional Fissure, Forbidden Droplet, and Radiant Typhoon Meghala. He Set a card to his backrow, Special Summoned Meghala, then activated Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy his face-down Mandate! Moore used the effect of Meghala to Special Summon Radiant Typhoon Swen from the Deck and Set Mandate back to the field, used Swen’s effect to search for Radiant Typhoon Chant, then activated Chant to search for Radiant Typhoon Eldam. He Special Summoned Eldam and searched for Radiant Typhoon Krosea, then Tributed Swen to Tribute Summon Radiant Typhoon Krosea and search for Mystical Space Typhoon and Radiant Typhoon Ascendance! Next, Moore used Eldam and Krosea to Link Summon Radiant Typhoon Varuroon, the Marine Eidolon and search for another Mystical Space Typhoon, then activated Dimensional Fissure! Finally, he Set 3 cards to his backrow and ended his turn.

During Goldsmith’s Draw Phase, Moore activated Ascendance, Special Summoning Krosea from the Graveyard. He activated the effect of Meghala and Krosea, but Krosea’s effect was met by Goldsmith’s Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring! Moore resolved Meghala’s effect, Special Summoning Radiant Typhoon Varuroon, the Vibrant Vortex from the Deck, then activated Radiant Typhoon Mandate. Goldsmith began his turn by Setting a card to his backrow, then Normal Summoning Lukias and activating its effect. Moore Chained Mystical Space Typhoon, but before he could Chain the effect of Mandate, Goldsmith activated Double Cyclone, destroying Mandate and his face-down Dracotail Flame. Moore Set Mandate back to the field as Goldsmith resolved Lukias’ effect to search for Dracotail Faimena. Goldsmith entered the Battle Phase and used Lukias to attack Meghala, but Moore used Mandate’s effect to shuffle 3 Quick-Play Spells from the Graveyard back to the Deck, giving his Meghala a 300 DEF boost. Finally, Goldsmith activated the effect of Faimena, but Moore negated it with Varuroon’s effect, and Goldsmith conceded.

Moore’s record improves to 4-0 here at the 300th YCS in Richmond!
