Welcome to YCS Providence! We’re kicking things off with some of the best cards of Alliance Insight: Skull Servants and Live☆Twins! We have Leo Theroux, from Swansea, Massachusetts, who has paired the skeletons with a Tearlaments strategy. He’s playing against Zachary Seem, from Long Island, NY, putting the Live☆Twins to use with a Bystial Fiendsmith Deck.

Duel 1

Seem won the dice roll and began with Live☆Twin Ki-sikil, which let him Special Summon Live☆Twin Lil-la Sweet. He used Ki-sikil to Link Summon Evil★Twin Ki-sikil Deal, then used both monsters to Link Summon Evil★Twin Ki-sikil. It brought back Lil-la from the Graveyard, and he Link Summoned Evil★Twin Lil-la. That revived Evil★Twin Ki-sikil, which let him draw a card. He used Ki-sikil to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Requiem, and used its effect to Special Summon Lacrima the Crimson Tears. Lacrima’s effect put Fiendsmith Engraver in the Graveyard, and he Special Summoned it by returning Deal to the Extra Deck. He used Engraver and Lacrima to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Sequence, which let him fuse Lacrima, Engraver, and Requiem into Fiendsmith’s Desirae. He used Lil-la and Sequence to Link Summon Evil★Twin’s Trouble Sunny. He used Sunny to Special Summon Lil-la and Ki-sikil, and promptly used both to Link Summon A Bao A Qu, the Lightless Shadow. With A Bao A Qu’s effect, he discarded a Mulcharmy Fuwalos to revive Sunny. He equipped Sequence to Desirae. Then he used Live☆Twin Sunny’s Snitch, adding Live☆Twin Ki-sikil Frost to his hand. A Bao A Qu returned in the End Phase.

Theroux had a hand of Tearlaments Sulliek, Lightning Storm, Mudora the Sword Oracle, Goblin Biker Grand Breakout, and Imsety, Glory of Horus, drawing Tearlaments Merrli for the turn. He used Imsety’s effect, sending it and Mudora to the Graveyard to add King’s Sarcophagus to his hand. He Normal Summoned Merrli, which sent Wightbaking, Harpie’s Feather Duster, and The Lady in Wight to the Graveyard. Wightbaking’s effect activated, and he Chained Grand Breakout by Tributing Merrli. Seem Chained Sunny to revive his Evil★Twins once again. Grand Breakout brought Goblin Zombie to the field. Then, Wightbaking put Wightlord and Wightprince in the hand, then discarded Sulliek. Li-la destroyed Goblin Zombie, Ki-Sikil let Seem draw a card, and Sulliek put Tearlaments Scheiren in Theroux’s hand. Goblin Zombie’s effect put Wightmare in Theroux’s hand as well. He played Lightning Storm, forcing out Desirae’s negation effect. Theroux Special Summoned Scheiren by discarding Wightprince, which then sent Changshi the Spiradao, Moissa Wight, and Skull Servant to the Graveyard. Wightprince’s effect then sent another Skull Servant and The Lady in Wight to the Graveyard. He played King’s Sarcophagus, and Seem Chained A Bao A Qu, discarding Live☆Twin Ki-sikil Frost to destroy the Sarcophagus. Theroux activated Wightlord to send eight cards to the Graveyard! That included a King of the Skull Servants, Curse of the Ancient Turtle, and two more Skull Servant monsters. He activated Wightprince, banishing it and two Ladies to Special Summon King of the Skull Servants from the Deck! Then he activated Wightmare to Special Summon a banished Lady. He tried to use Wightlord to Special Summon Moissa Wight, but Seem had Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion for that effect. He moved to the Battle Phase, sending his 8000 ATK King to obliterate Evil★Twin Ki-sikil! That left the Life Points as 6800 to 2300, with Seem having drained some Life Points thanks to Sunny’s Snitch. In Main Phase 2, Theroux used all his monsters to Link Summon Vampire Fascinator. Its effect Special Summoned Ki-sikil Frost from Seem’s Graveyard, and its other effect let him Tribute Fascinator to steal A Bao A Qu. He used both stolen monsters to Link Summon S:P Little Knight, targeting Li-la. Seem Chained it to get Ki-Sikil back. Then, Theroux used Little Knight to Link Summon Super Starslayer TY-PHON – Sky Crisis! It bounced Desirae back to the Extra Deck.

Seem played Fiendsmith’s Tract, adding Fabled Lurrie to the hand and discarding it. Lurrie activated, and Theroux used Mudora to shuffle Lurrie back into the Deck, along with his own King and Curse of the Ancient Turtle. Seem Special Summoned Li-la Sweet from the Graveyard, then used Ki-sikil to Link Summon Requiem. Requiem brought forth Lacrima, which sent Engraver to the Graveyard. He Special Summoned Engraver by returning Evil★Twin Ki-sikil. He equipped Requiem to Engraver, then used Engraver’s effect to send Requiem and TY-PHON both to the Graveyard. He used Lacrima and Li-la Sweet to Link Summon Muckraker From the Underworld. Its effect let him pitch Fuwalos to Special Summon Sunny, and that was enough to end the first Duel!

Duel 2

Theroux had a rough opening hand, with two copies of The Lady in Wight, two copies of Wight Reanimator, and Goblin Biker Grand Breakout. The Skull Servant nightmare scenario is opening with a bunch of the monsters you’re trying to send with Wightprince, and it didn’t help that Seem activated Mulcharmy Purulia at the start of the turn. Theroux Normal Summoned Lady, then used Grand Breakout to exchange it for Goblin Zombie. He activated Wight Reanimator, targeting Lady with it, and Seem also had Mulcharmy Meowls! Reanimator sent Wightbaking to the Graveyard. Wightbaking’s effect put Wightlord and Wightprince in Theroux’s hand, and he discarded Wightprince. That let him then send Lady from the hand and Skull Servant from the Deck to the Graveyard. He Link Summoned Vampire Sucker, and his Goblin Zombie put Wightmare in his hand. He activated Wightlord, sending six cards to the Graveyard, including Tearlaments Havnis and Glow-Up Bloom. Havnis’s effect returned itself and Bloom to the Deck to bring Mudragon of the Swamp to the field. He used Wightlord’s effect in the Graveyard to Special Summon Wightprince, triggering Vampire Sucker to draw King’s Sarcophagus! He activated Sarcophagus, sending his spare Reanimator to the Graveyard to send Hapi, Guidance of Horus to the Graveyard. He used Wightprince and Vampire Sucker to Link Summon Vampire Fascinator, which Special Summoned Meowls from Seem’s Graveyard. He Special Summoned Hapi, then stacked it and Meowls for The Zombie Vampire! He used its effect, sending six cards including Ghost Meets Girl – A Masterful Mayakashi Shiranui Saga, and Special Summoned Ghost Belle from among Seem’s cards. He used Belle and Vampire Fascinator to Link Summon Yuki Onna, the Absolute Zero Mayakashi! He used Wightprince, banishing itself and two Ladies to Special Summon King of the Skull Servants from the Deck. He used Wightmare to Special Summon a banished Lady. He passed the turn, with Seem having 10 cards thanks to his Mulcharmies.

Seem started the turn, and Theroux used Mudragon to prevent LIGHT monsters from being targeted. Seem used The Bystial Lubellion to find Bystial Druiswurm. He played Fiendsmith’s Tract, finding Lurrie and discarding it. He Special Summoned Lurrie, then used it to Link Summon Requiem, which let him Special Summon Lacrima from his hand. That put Engraver in the Graveyard. He returned Lurrie to Special Summon Engraver. He couldn’t equip Requiem due to Mudragon, so he Link Summoned Sequence. He used its effect to shuffle back all the Fiendsmiths in his Graveyard, bringing Desirae to the field. He used Sequence and Desirae to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Agnumday. He Normal Summoned Live☆Twin Ki-sikil, then Link Summoned Evil★Twin Ki-sikil Deal. Deal sent Li-la Sweet to the Graveyard. He then used Desirae to negate Mudragon, The Lady in Wight, and Yuki Onna. He Special Summoned Li-la Sweet from the Graveyard, and used both Live☆Twins to Link Summon Evil★Twin Ki-sikil. He used that to revive Li-la Sweet, and then both monsters to Link Summon Evil★Twin Li-la. That brought Evil★Twin Ki-sikil back, letting him draw a card. He used both monsters to Link Summon Evil★Twin’s Trouble Sunny. He Tributed Sunny to bring Li-la and Ki-sikil back, and Li-la destroyed The Zombie Vampire. He used both Evil★Twins to Link Summon A Bao A Qu, discarding a Purulia to revive Sunny. He banished The Zombie Vampire from Theroux’s Graveyard to Special Summon Druiswurm. He attacked Theroux’s 3000 ATK King with Sunny, and Theroux used Ghost Meets Girl to return his banished Wightlord to the Graveyard, powering up the King to win the battle. Desirae ran over the King, and it returned to the field in Defense Position by banishing Skull Servant. Druiswurm ran over Mudragon. In Main Phase 2, Seem Tributed Druiswurm to bring Lubellion from the Graveyard, and Druiswurm sent Yuki Onna to the Graveyard. A Bao A Qu returned in the End Phase, and Seem had to discard a Ki-sikil Frost due to his hand size.

Theroux drew Scheiren. He tried using Wight Reanimator, and Desirae negated it, King’s Sarcophagus, and Lady. Theroux used Wightlord to Special Summon Wightbaking, and Seem used A Bao A Qu, discarding card to revive Sunny. He then used Sunny to revive Ki-sikil and Li-la. Li-la destroyed Wightbaking, and Ki-sikil let him draw a card. Theroux tried using Wightbaking, but Seem had Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring! Theroux used King to Link Summon Relinquished Anima, which ate up Seem’s Lubellion. He then used Anima and Lady to Link Summon S:P Little Knight, banishing Li-la. Little Knight attacked Ki-sikil. Then, Theroux used Little Knight to Link Summon TY-PHON, bouncing Desirae back to the Extra Deck. A Bao A Qu returned to the field again.

Seem used A Bao A Qu’s effect in the Standby Phase, drawing a whopping 7 cards! He had to put 7 back, but got to choose the best ones to keep in hand from among them. He activated Engraver from the hand, getting Fiendsmith’s Tract. Tract let him find Lurrie and discard it. He Link Summoned Requiem, which brought Lacrima to the field. Lacrima put Fiendsmith in Paradise in the Graveyard. He Special Summoned Engraver by returning Sequence. Then he equipped Requiem to Engraver, and used Engraver’s effect to send TY-PHON and Requiem to the Graveyard. He Link Summoned Sequence, and once again brought Desirae to the field. He equipped Sequence to Desirae, then Special Summoned Bystial Baldrake from his hand. He moved to the Battle Phase, attacking to end the Match!
