Welcome to the 2024 North America Remote Duel Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series!
The Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series (“YCS”) returns, and this time it’s from the comfort of your own home! The Remote Duel YCS lets Duelists set up a microphone and a camera pointing to their field, and Duel against other players over Discord for the chance of winning the same trophy and prizes that Duelists have become accustomed to competing for at in-person YCS events.
375 Duelists are starting off in Round 1, with VIP Duelists and late entries joining in later and adding to the count. Duelists have already become used to the impact of Rage of the Abyss on competitive Dueling. Landon Oliver won both YCS Guayaquil, Ecuador and YCS Niagara Falls, Canada with his Azamina Snake-Eye Fire King Deck, utilizing the new Azamina cards from Rage of the Abyss plus other key cards from Rage of the Abyss like Fire King Courtier Ulcanix. Popular tech cards like Dominus Impulse and Mulcharmy Fuwalos from Rage of the Abyss are also being widely used by competitive Duelists and have had a major impact on tournament-level competition.
Many Duelists anticipate that the results this weekend will be similar to the results of YCS Guayaquil and YCS Niagara Falls, but with Duelists more prepared to face the Decks that have risen to the top, a lot can change. Plus, for the Duelists competing this weekend, it’ll be a last opportunity to win a YCS trophy and an Ultra Rare Anotherverse Solaria before the release of Crossover Breakers on December 6, 2024. Crossover Breakers will be legal to use at YCS Anaheim on December 7th and 8th, and will introduce the new Ryzeal, Maliss, and Ryu-Ge cards to the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME.
Round 1 of the North America Remote Duel YCS is currently underway. Duelists will compete in a total of 9 Swiss Rounds today, followed by a Top 32 single elimination cut tomorrow. By the end of the weekend, a new YCS Champion will be named. Follow the coverage to see all of the action of the 2024 North America Remote Duel YCS!
