Welcome to YCS Columbus!
Duelists are gathered at the Greater Columbus Convention Center for another weekend of Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series (“YCS”) festivities!

This weekend, for the first time ever, two YCS Main Events will take place simultaneously at the same venue – one for Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Advanced Format and one for the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Genesys Format. Both events will award the same YCS-level prizing that Duelists have become accustomed too, including an Ultra Rare Anotherverse Stratios prize card, a GIANT card of the winner’s choice, and complimentary travel and accommodation to the next World Championship Qualifier. That means double the prizes are up for grabs this weekend, and Duelists will be able to compete in the tournament that they think will give them their best shot.
Victory won’t be easy to achieve. In the Advanced Format, a new Forbidden & Limited List took effect on May 18, 2026, requiring Duelists to adjust the strategies they may have been using. The addition of K9-04 Noroi to the Forbidden List and addition of Cupsy☆Yummy to the Limited List, for example, forced impactful change to “K9” and “Yummy” Decks respectively. Meanwhile, the return of Fairy Tail – Snow, Metamorphosis, and Premature Burial, which were previously Forbidden but swapped to Limited in the May 18 update, give Duelists old favorites with which they can experiment.
In the Genesys Format, point values assigned to cards are frequently updated, and the latest update was just announced under a month ago. The Genesys Format constantly presents deckbuilding challenges to Duelists, who must channel their creativity to build a Deck that can best the competition within the point constraints of the format. The winner of this weekend’s Genesys Main Event will need to prove that he or she has Deckbuilding ingenuity that is unmatched by the other competitors.
New changes to the Forbidden & Limited List and Genesys Point List aren’t the only adjustments to which Duelists will need to adapt. The release of the Blazing Dominion booster set is likely to have a high impact in both formats, and Duelists will need to master the new cards in the set in order to prevail. Blazing Dominion elevates “Kewl Tune” and “DoomZ” Decks to new competitive levels, while introducing new strategies like “Clown Crew” and “GMX” to the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME. The new set also adds powerful cards to other Decks, including “Fairy Tail” Decks, “Power Patron” Decks, “Enneacraft” Decks, and Decks built around Red Dragon Archfiend. Plus, tech cards like Dominus Spark, Solemn Accusation, and Fydraulis Harmonia are likely to make their way into a variety of Decks that Duelists are using this weekend.
1618 Duelists registered for the Advanced Format YCS Main Event, and 175 Duelists signed up to compete in the Genesys Format YCS Main Event. Soon, they’ll be taking their seats for the first round of the tournament. You can watch the action live on the official Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Twitch and YouTube channel. It’s almost time to Duel!
