Our Round 10 Feature Match is NorCal vs. SoCal! Andy Lee is here from San Jose, representing Team Day Two Pls with his Fiendsmith Magnet Warriors. His opponent is Radu Firtat, a Los Angeles Duelist from Team Aaron Locals (Aaron is his team mate), playing Azamina Yummy! We’ve got a few rounds left before the Top 8 cut, so this Match will have a major say in these Duelists’ chances.

Duel 1

Lee’s opening hand was Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit, Beta the Electromagnet Warrior, Dominus Purge, and two copies of Conduction Warrior Linear Magnum Plus Minus.

Firtat won the dice roll and began by Special Summoning Marshmao☆Yummy. He Link Summoned Yummy★Snatchy, and activated its effect to get a Field Spell. Lee destroyed it with Ghost Ogre, and Firtat placed Yummyusment☆Mignon on the field from his hand. He Normal Summoned Lollipo☆Yummy, and Link Summoned Linkuriboh. He used Mignon to Special Summon Lollipo, and Synchro Summoned Cupsy★Yummy Way. Lee negated it with Dominus Purge, and Firtat responded with Cupsy★Yummy Way’s effect to tag out, bringing Snatchy and Lollipo back to the field. Lollipo shuffled Purge back into Lee’s Deck. Firtat Synchro Summoned Lollipo★Yummy Way, which revived Lollipo and Snatchy with their effects negated. He used both of them to Link Summon S:P Little Knight, banishing Ghost Ogre. He used Mignon to Special Summon Diabellstar the Black Witch, which Set Deception of the Sinful Spoils on the field.

He used Diabellstar to Special Summon Dark Magician of Destruction, which put Magicians’ Souls in his hand. He flipped up Deception, using its effect to Tribute Dark Magician of Destruction and add The Hallowed Azamina to his hand. He played that, bringing Azamina Mu Rcielago to the field by sending Deception to the Graveyard. Mu Rcielago put WANTED: Seeker of Sinful Spoils in his hand. He used The Hallowed Azamina’s effect, returing it from the Graveyard by returning  Mu Rcielago to his Extra Deck. He played The Hallowed Azamina again, and Chained WANTED. He added Diabellstar to his hand, and The Hallowed Azamina used the on-field WANTED to bring Azamina Ilia Silvia to the field. He used WANTED’s Graveyard effect to return Deception to his Deck and draw a card. He used Magicians’ Souls, sending a Diabellstar from his Deck to the Graveyard to Special Summon Magicians’ Souls.

Lee drew Fiendsmith Engraver. He Special Summoned Conduction Warrior, sending Magnet Warrior Omega Plus and Epsilon the Magnet Warrior to the Graveyard. He Normal Summoned Beta the Electromagnet Warrior, declining its effect so Firtat couldn’t activate S:P Little Knight’s effect. He moved to the Battle Phase, and Firtat Tributed Magicians’ Souls to Special Summon Linkuriboh from his Graveyard. Lee sent Beta to attack Lollipo★Yummy Way, destroying it. Conduction Warrior attacked Ilia Silvia, and Firtat used Linkuriboh to drop Conduction Warrior to 0 ATK. That caused a replay, and Lee canceled his attack. In Main Phase 2, he used Omega Plus’s effect in the Graveyard. Firtat responded with S:P Little Knight, banishing S:P and Conduction Warrior. Omega Plus resolved, destroying the Conduction Warrior in Lee’s hand, and he Special Summoned Omega Plus. The destroyed Conduction Warrior then returned itself to Lee’s hand. He used Engraver’s effect, and it was hit by Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. In the End Phase, Conduction Warrior and S:P returned to the field.

Firtat wasn’t especially familiar with the Magnet Warriors, but his team mates helped him know what could happen with Beta’s effect. With that knowledge he proceeded to Normal Summon Cupsy☆Yummy, and Lee conceded! He was already fighting from behind and just needed to see one of Firtat’s combo starters.

Duel 2

Lee started this time with Duoterion, Effect Veiler, Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion, Triple Tactics Talent, and Conduction Warrior.

Firtat activated Mulcharmy Purulia to start the Duel. Lee used the effect of Duoterion, adding Magnet Bonding to his hand. He played it, trying to use its first effect, but Firtat had PSY-Framegear Delta! Lee pondered a moment, and hit it with Ghost Belle! Magnet Bonding resolved, adding Conduction Warrior to his hand. He Special Summoned it, sending Magnet Warrior Sigma Plus and Epsilon to the Graveyard. Firtat drew from Purulia. Sigma Plus’s effect brought Epsilon to the field. Epsilon then sent Beta the Electromagnet Warrior to the Graveyard and revived Sigma Plus. He used Epsilon and Sigma Plus to Xyz Summon Evilswarm Exciton Knight. That was the LIGHT Fiend he needed to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Requiem, and he used that to Special Summon Lacrima the Crimson Tears from his Deck. He tried using Lacrima’s effect, but it was hit by Infinite Impermanence. Their team mates’ Duels had finished quickly, and now everything was riding on this Match.

Lee Normal Summoned Omega Plus, letting Firtat draw again with Purulia. He used Omega Plus and Lacrima to Xyz Summon Gallant Granite. He detached Omega Plus for Gallant Granite’s effect, but Firtat had another Infinite Impermanence. He destroyed Conduction Warrior to Special Summon Omega Plus from the Graveyard, and Conduction Warrior returned itself to Lee’s hand. He used Omega Plus and Gallant Granite to Link Summon Muckraker From the Underworld. Muckraker brought Exciton Knight back to the field, sending Conduction Warrior to the Graveyard. He equipped Requiem to Exciton Knight, letting him use both cards to play Necroquip Princess. He attempted to pass the turn here, but Firtat had Nibiru, the Primal Being! Lee got a 3000/2000 Primal Being Token, in Defense Position. Lee made one more play, using Triple Tactics Talent to draw Lacrima the Crimson Tears and Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring.

Firtat played WANTED in the Draw Phase, and Lee negated it with Ash Blossom. Firtat moved to the Main Phase, and sent PSY-Framegear Delta to the Graveyard to Special Summon Diabellstar. Lee negated it with Effect Veiler, but Firtat played his last card – Deception of the Sinful Spoils! He used Diabellstar to Special Summon Dark Magician of Destruction, which put Magicians’ Souls in his hand. On resolution, Lee used Lacrima the Crimson Tears’s Graveyard effect to Special Summon Requiem, and used that to Special Summon Lacrima the Crimson Tears in Defense Position. Lacrima sent Fiendsmith Engraver to the Graveyard. Firtat used Dark Magician of Destruction and Nibiru to Link Summon Sky Striker Ace – Camellia, which sent Sky Striker Mecha – Hornet Drones to the Graveyard. He used Camellia to Link Summon Sky Striker Ace – Kagari, returning Hornet Drones to his hand. That would let him pivot into Cupsy★Yummy Way, and Lee knew it was all over – he conceded!
