It’s the Dragon Duel Championship! We’ve got Saturday’s winner, Emmett P., from Utah, playing Fiendsmith Yummy! He’s facing Sunday’s winner, Luis H. from Texas, playing Branded Dracotail! The winner of this Duel will claim the YCS Prize Card Chaos Emperor, the Dragon of Armageddon, the trophy, and the title of TEAM YCS Las Vegas Dragon Duel Champion!

Duel 1

Emmett won the dice roll and played first. He had a hand of Marshmao☆Yummy, Effect Veiler, Droll & Lock Bird, Yummyusment☆Mignon, and Yummy☆Surprise.

The Duelists shook hands, and Emmett led by Special Summoning Marshmao. He Link Summoned Yummy★Snatchy, using its effect to place Mignon on the field. He used his Field Spell to Special Summon Marshmao, and Synchro Summoned Cupsy★Yummy Way. That let him add Cupsy☆Yummy and Lollipo☆Yummy to his hand, and he discarded Lollipo. He Special Summoned Cupsy, which put Cooky☆Yummy in his hand. He Special Summoned Cooky, then used Cupsy to Link Summon Linkuriboh. He used Linkuriboh and Cooky to Synchro Summon Lollipo★Yummy Way. That let him Special Summon Cooky and Lollipo with their effects negated, and he used both monsters to Link Summon Reprodocus. He used its effect to make Cupsy★Yummy Way into a Fiend, and then Link Summoned Fiendsmith’s Requiem. He activated Requiem’s effect, but Luis had Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring to negate it! Emmett played Surprise to Special Summon Marshmao, which returned the Surprise to his hand. He used Marshmao and Reprodocus to Link Summon S:P Little Knight, then Set Surprise.

Luis Normal Summoned Dracotail Mululu, then played Branded Fusion! Emmett Chained Lollipo★Yummy Way’s effect, bringing Snatchy and Lollipo from the Graveyard back to the field. Luis then fused Fallen of the White Dragon and Dracotail Urgula from his Deck into Alba-Lenatus the Abyss Dragon! Emmett activated Snatchy’s effect to put a Field Spell on the board, then Lollipo’s effect to shuffle Fallen of the White Dragon, and Emmett placed Yummyusment★Acroquey on the field. Urgula Set Ketu Dracotail for Luis, and destroyed Acroquey.

Emmett activated Surprise to get a Field Spell back, and Luis responded with Mululu’s effect. Emmett Chained Snatchy’s effect, using it and Lollipo for Cooky★Yummy Way. Mululu’s effect resolved, fusing it with Dracotail Pan from Luis’s hand, into Dracotail Arthalion. Surprise then put Acroquey back on the field. A new Chain started, with both players having a bunch of effects to activate:

Luis’s Mululu and Pan each activated, since they were used as Fusion materials.

Luis’s Arthalion targeted Pan in the Graveyard to return to the hand.

Emmet’s newly Synchro Summoned Cooky★Yummy Way targeted Arthalion and Alba-Lenatus to flip them face-down.

Emmet then Chained Effect Veiler, trying to negate Arthalion.

The Chain resolved: Veiler targeted the Arthalion, but that effect wore off when Cooky★Yummy Way flipped Luis’s monsters face-down. Pan went to Luis’s hand. Luis Set from his Deck Dracotail Flame and Dracotail Sting, and destroyed Cooky★Yummy Way.

Acroquey let Emmett Special Summon Cupsy☆Yummy from his Deck, which then put another Surprise in his hand. Luis flipped up Ketu, adding Dracotail Lukias to his hand and fusing it with Arthalion for Secreterion Dragon. He used Lukias’s effect, and Emmett Chained Droll & Lock Bird. Lukias put Dracotail Horn on the field. Luis continued, playing Rahu Dracotail to fuse Urgula from his Deck with Incredible Ecclesia, the Virtuous from his hand, into Dracotail Gulamel! Then he Special Summoned Arthalion from the Graveyard, and Gulamel destroyed Cooky★Yummy Way! He used Urgula’s effect to Special Summon Lukias. He then used Secreterion’s effect to Special Summon Incredible Ecclesia. He used its effect to Special Summon Fallen of Albaz, activating its effect – Emmett conceded, about to lose his last monster!

Duel 2

Emmett began with an opening hand of Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion, Infinite Impermanence, Dominus Purge, and Marshmao☆Yummy.

Emmett Special Summoned Marshmao, and Luis tried using Mulcharmy Fuwalos. Emmett negated Fuwalos with Ash Blossom, then Link Summoned Snatchy. That put Yummyusment☆Mignon on the field, and he used it to Special Summon Marshmao. He Synchro Summoned Cupsy★Yummy Way, and used its effect to add Cupsy and Lollipo to his hand, discarding Lollipo. He Special Summoned Cupsy and added Surprise to his hand. He played Surprise to Special Summon Marshmao, which put Surprise in his hand again. He used Cupsy to play Linkuriboh, then that and Marshmao for Lollipo★Yummy Way. That revived Marshmao and Lollipo, and he used both to play Reprodocus. He used that to change Cupsy★Yummy Way into a Fiend, and Link Summoned Fiendsmith’s Requiem. He activated it, and just like last Duel, Luis had Ash Blossom for it. Emmett Set Purge, Impermanence, and Surprise.

Luis paid half his Life Points for Illusion Gate, but Emmett negated it with Ghost Belle. Luis Normal Summoned Lukias and activated its effect – Emmett flipped Dominus Purge. Luis sent Lukias to attack over Lollipo★Yummy Way. He Set one back row card. In the End Phase, Emmett flipped Surprise to Special Summon Marshmao, and returned Surprise to his hand once more.

Emmett drew Retaliating “C”. He played Surprise to Special Summon Snatchy, then used Mignon to Special Summon Cupsy. Its effect put Cooky in his hand. He Special Summoned it, reducing Lukias’s ATK with its effect. He used Marshmao and Snatchy to Synchro Summon Cooky★Yummy Way. He moved to the Battle Phase, sending Cupsy to attack Lukias, boosted by Yummyusment☆Mignon. Luis had only 4000 Life Points remaining due to Illusion Gate, and Emmett’s monsters were more than enough to tie the score!

Duel 3

Emmett’s final opening hand was Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, Marshmao, Cooky, Cupsy, and Contact “C”.

Luis led by Normal Summoning Blazing Cartesia, the Virtuous. He Set two back row cards.

Emmett drew another Marshmao. He Normal Summoned Cupsy and activated its effect, adding Surprise to his hand. He Link Summoned Snatchy, and activated its effect to put Yummyusment☆Mignon on the field. He used Mignon to Special Summon Cupsy from his Graveyard, then used both monsters to Synchro Summon Cupsy★Yummy Way. Its effect put Lollipo and Cupsy in his hand, and he discarded Marshmao. He Special Summoned Cooky, making Cartesia lose 1000 ATK. He played Surprise to Special Summon Marshmao, putting Surprise back in his hand. He used Cooky to Link Summon Linkuriboh, then that and Marshmao to Synchro Summon Lollipo★Yummy Way. It let him Special Summon Marshmao and Cooky with their effects negated. He activated Surprise, targeting Cooky and Cupsy★Yummy Way, along with Cartesia and a back row card to return them all to the hand. Luis flipped the targeted card, Dracotail Horn targeting Lollipo★Yummy Way, and Emmett Chained Ash Blossom. Luis Chained Blazing Cartesia’s effect, then flipped up The Fallen & The Virtuous, sending Albion the Branded to the Graveyard to destroy Lollipo. Emmett responded to that with Lollipo★Yummy Way’s effect, tagging it out for Cupsy and Snatchy.

The massive Chain resolved! Luis Fused Cartesia with Albaz for Albion, and Cupsy★Yummy Way and Cooky were bounced to the hand. In a new Chain, Luis activated Albion’s effect. He then Chained Snatchy, using it and Cupsy to bring out Cooky★Yummy Way. Finally, Albion fused monsters from Luis’s Graveyard into Mirrorjade the Iceblade Dragon! Cooky★Yummy Way targeted Albion and Mirrorjade, and Luis responded with Mirrorjade’s effect, sending a third Albion to the Graveyard.

Mirrorjade banished Marshmao, and Cooky★Yummy Way turned Luis’s monsters face-down. Emmett used Marshmao’s effect to Special Summon it, then Special Summoned Lollipo. Its effect shuffled Blazing Cartesia back into Luis’s Deck. He Special Summoned Cupsy next, and Luis revealed his last card: Nibiru, the Primal Being! Emmet lost his monsters in exchange for a 3000 ATK / 3600 DEF Primal Being Token. Luis’s monsters survived Nibiru, since they were face-down from Cooky★Yummy Way! In the End Phase, Albion’s effect put Branded Fusion in Luis’s hand.

Luis used Mirrorjade to banish the Primal Being Token, leaving Emmett wide open to end the Match!
