Now they’re Dueling against one another at table 9! A victory in this Match could allow one of these Duelists to make it into the Top 8 cut with strong tiebreakers, while a loss will guarantee one of these Duelists will fall short of that Top 8 finish. Sierra is on an Elfnote Fiendsmith strategy, utilizing the new Elfnote cards from the recently released Burst Protocol. Lloyd is using a Radiant Typhoon Yummy Deck that takes advantage of Tri-Brigade Springans Kitt and Radiant Typhoon cards that were also included in Burst Protocol. It’s time to Duel!

Duel One

Sierra opened up Duel 1 with Fiendsmith’s Tract, Effect Veiler, Infinite Impermanence, Medius the Pure, and Elfnote Tinia.

He activated Fiendsmith’s Tract to add Fabled Lurrie from his Deck to his hand and discard it. He activated its effect to Special Summon it and then sent it to the Graveyard to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Requiem. He Tributed Requiem to Special Summon Lacrima the Crimson Tears with its effect and then used Lacrima’s effect to send Fiendsmith Engraver from his Deck to his Graveyard. He used the effect of Requiem in his Graveyard to equip it to Lacrima and then sent Lacrima and Requiem to the Graveyard to Special Summon Necroquip Princess. Next, he Special Summoned Engraver from his Graveyard by returning Lurrie to his Deck. He Special Summoned Elfnote Tinia to the center column next and activated Tinia’s effect to place Elfnotes: Welcome Home in his Spell & Trap Card Zone. Next, he sent Engraver and Tinia to the Graveyard to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Sequence and activated its effect. He returned Requiem and Lacrima from his Graveyard to his Deck to Special Summon Fiendsmith’s Lacrima and then activated its effect to Special Summon Engraver from his Graveyard. He combined Engraver with Lacrima to Xyz Summon D/D/D Wave High King Caesar and then activated the effect of Welcome Home by sending Medius the Pure from his hand to his Graveyard. He Special Summoned Elfnote Lucina and then drew a card with the effect of Necroquip Princess. He activated Lucina’s effect to add Elfnote Power Patron from his Deck to his hand. He Normal Summoned the Power Patron and then Tuned it with Lucina to Synchro Summon Elfnote Seraphim Strelitzia. He used his Power Patron’s effect to add Elfnote Fortuna from his Deck to his hand. Next, he Special Summoned Fortuna from his hand and used its effect to place Elfnotes: Rhapsodia of Madness from his Deck face-up in his back row. He activated Seraphim’s effect to Special Summon Power Patron and then Synchro Summoned F.A. Dawn Dragster. Next, he activated Theorealize to look at the top card of Lloyd’s Deck, and rather than reveal his Deck’s strategy, Lloyd conceded.

Duel Two

Lloyd started off Duel 2 and Sierra activated the effect of Mulcharmy Purulia in the Standby Phase. Lloyd Special Summoned Marshmao☆Yummy from his hand, allowing Sierra to draw a card from Purulia’s effect.

Then Lloyd Link Summoned Yummy★Snatchy and used its effect to place Yummyusment☆Mignon in his Field Spell Zone. He activated its effect to Special Summon Marshmao and then Synchro Summoned Lollipo★Yummy Way. He used its effect to Special Summon Marshmao and Snatchy from his Graveyard and then Tuned them together to Synchro Summon Cupsy★Yummy Way. He activated its effect, and Sierra Chained the effect of Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring to negate it; but Lloyd Chained the effect of Cupsy★Yummy Way to return it to the Extra Deck and Special Summon Snatchy and Marshmao from his Graveyard. He sent Snatchy and Marshmao to the Graveyard to Link Summoned Tri-Brigade Arms Mouser. He activated its effect to send Tri-Brigade Arms Bucephalus II and Tri-Brigade Kitt from his Deck to his Graveyard. He used the effects of Bucephalus II and Kitt to send Garura Wings of Resonant Life from his Extra Deck and Tri-Brigade Springans Kitt from his Main Deck to the Graveyard. He drew a card with Garura’s effect and Special Summoned Tri-Brigade Kitt from his Graveyard with Springans Kitt’s effect. Next, he activated Radiant Typhoon Vision to draw 2 cards and discard Radiant Typhoon Swen. He then Special Summoned Radiant Typhoon Swen back from his Graveyard by activating Radiant Typhoon Ascendance. He activated Swen’s effect to add Radiant Typhoon Chant from his Deck to his hand. He activated it to add Radiant Typhoon Meghala to his hand. He sent Arms Mouser and Swen to the Graveyard to Link Summon Tri-Brigade Ferrijit the Barren Blossom and then banished 4 monsters from his Graveyard to activate Kitt’s effect and Special Summon Tri-Brigade Shuraig the Ominous Omen from his Extra Deck. He Special Summoned Meghala from his hand next, allowing Sierra to draw another card thanks to Purulia’s effect. He then used Vision to add Mystical Space Typhoon from his Deck to his hand and activated Meghala’s effect to Special Summon Radiant Typhoon Krosea from his Deck. He activated Krosea’s effect, but lost out to Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion. Lloyd Set 2 cards to his back row and then ended his turn.

Sierra drew Droll & Lock Bird and added it to his hand of Medius the Pure, Elfnote Tinia, Fiendsmith’s Engraver, and Elfnote Lucina. He activated the effect of Engraver to add Fiendsmith’s Tract from his Deck to his hand and then activated the Tract to add Lurrie from his Deck to his hand and discard it. He activated Lurrie’s effect to try to Special Summon it and Lloyd Chained Silent Graveyard, negating its effect!

Sierra instantly conceded, pushing the Match to a third and final Duel!

Duel Three

Sierra opened up Duel 3 with Elfnote Lucina, Medius the Pure, Mistaken Arrest, Nibiru, the Primal Being, and Droll & Lock Bird. He Special Summoned Lucina from his hand to his center Monster Card Zone and then activated its effect to add Elfnote Power Patron from his Deck to his hand. He Normal Summoned it and used its effect to increase Lucina’s Level by 3. He then Tuned his 2 monsters together to Synchro Summon Fabled Levilazebul. He activated his Power Patron’s effect to add Elfnote Tinia from his Deck to his hand. He Special Summoned Tinia and activated its effect to place Elfnotes: Welcome Home face-up in his back row. He sent Levilazebul to the Graveyard to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Requiem and then Tributed it to Special Summon Lacrima the Crimson Tears from his Deck. He activated Lacrima’s effect to send Fiendsmith Engraver from his deck to his Graveyard and then sent his 2 monsters to the Graveyard to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Sequence. He activated Sequence’s effect and fused together Lacrima with Levilazebul to Summon Fiendsmith’s Lacrima and then used the Lacrima’s effect to return an Engraver from his Graveyard to his hand. He then equipped Lacrima with Requiem and sent Lacrima and Requiem to the Graveyard to Special Summon Necroquip Princess. He activated Engraver’s effect next by discarding it and added Tract from his Deck to his hand. He then drew another Engraver thanks to Necroquip’s effect. He Special Summoned Engraver from his Graveyard by returning the Requiem in his Graveyard to his Extra Deck. He then combined Engraver with Lacrima to Xyz Summon D/D/D Wave High King Caesar. He activated Fiendsmith’s Tract next, adding Fabled Lurrie from his Deck to his hand and then discarding it. He Special Summoned Lurrie back from his Graveyard with its effect and then activated Welcome Home’s effect by sending Medius from his hand to his Graveyard. He Special Summoned Elfnote Fortuna and used Fortuna’s effect to place Elfnotes: Rhapsodia of Madness face-up in his back row. He activated its effect by Tributing Lurrie and then Special Summoned Elfnote Power Patron. He Tuned the Power Patron with Fortuna to Synchro Summon Seraphim. He activated its effect to Special Summon Tinia and then Set Mistaken Arrest before ending his turn.

Lloyd activated Radiant Typhoon Chant in the Draw Phase to get Mystical Space Typhoon from his Deck and Sierra Chained Mistaken Arrest. Lloyd Chained another copy of Chant to try to add a Radiant Typhoon monster from his Deck to his hand. He then Chained Radiant Typhoon Vision to try to get Mystical Space Typhoon from his Deck, and Sierra Chained Tinia’s effect to randomly banish Tri-Brigade Fraktall face-up from Lloyd’s hand. The Chain resolved and Lloyd added Mystical Space Typhoon and Radiant Typhoon Eldam from his Deck to his hand. He activated Mystical Space Typhoon next while still in the Draw Phase, targeting Elfnotes: Rhapsodia of Madness. Sierra Chained the Rhapsodia’s effect and Tributed Sequence to Special Summon Elfnote Lucina from his Graveyard. He negated the Mystical Space Typhoon with Rhapsodia. Lloyd Summoned Eldam from his hand next. He then Special Summoned Radiant Typhoon Swen. Sierra used his Lucina’s effect to return Eldam to Lloyd’s hand. Lloyd Normal Summoned it back to his field and sent his 2 monsters to the Graveyard to Link Summon Tri-Brigade Arms Mouser. He activated its effect and sent Bucephalus II and Tri-Brigade Kitt from his Extra Deck and Main Deck to the Graveyard. He sent Garura to the Graveyard with Bucephalus II’s effect and used Garura’s effect to draw a card. Next, he activated the effect of the Tri-Brigade Springans Kitt in his hand to try to Special Summon it. Sierra activated the effect of his Ceasar and Lloyd Chained Forbidden Droplet. He sent Springans Kitt from his hand to his Graveyard to negate the effect of Ceasar and halve its ATK, and then used the effect of Springans Kitt in the Graveyard to Special Summon Tri-Brigade Kitt from his Graveyard. Sierra activated the effect of Nibiru, the Primal Being, and with no cards left to play after Nibiru’s effect resolved, Lloyd conceded.
