We’re down to the Top 4 of the North America Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Dragon Duel Championship! While the tournament started with a variety of Decks, we have four Mitsurugi Ryzeal Duelists left! We saw Luis H. and Myson S. in earlier Feature Matches, and they’re back to see who’s headed to the Finals!

Duel 1

Myson won the dice roll and chose to play first. Luis had a hand of Ame no Murakumo no Mitsurugi, Mitsurugi Prayers, Ext Ryzeal, and two copies of Mulcharmy Purulia.

Luis activated Mulcharmy Purulia right away. Myson responded with Called by the Grave, and Luis Chained a second Purulia! The first Purulia was negated, but one made it through. Myson began his Main Phase with Seventh Tachyon, revealing Number 104: Masquerade to add Ice Ryzeal to his hand. He Normal Summoned Ice, and Luis’s Purulia let him draw Droll & Lock Bird. Ice brought Star Ryzeal to the field, which Set Ryzeal Cross on the field, and he flipped it right away. He Special Summoned Sword Ryzeal, and Luis drew Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. That was perfect timing, as Luis used Ash Blossom to negate Sword.

Myson stacked Ice and Star for Ryzeal Duo Drive, using its effect to add Ext Ryzeal and Node Ryzeal to his hand. He Special Summoned Node, and Luis drew Mitsurugi Ritual. Myson stacked Sword and Node for King of the Feral Imps, which put Ame no Habakiri no Mitsurugi in his hand. Luis activated Droll & Lock Bird, which would shut off his Purulia but probably hinder Myson enough to be worth it. Myson sent Eclipse Twins to the Graveyard to Special Summon Ext, then activated Habakiri’s effect to Special Summon Mitsurugi no Mikoto, Aramasa from the Deck and Tribute Duo Drive. He stacked Ext and Aramasa for a Defense Position Number 41: Bagooska the Terribly Tired Tapir.

Luis drew Mitsurugi Prayers. He Special Summoned Ext by sending Mereologic Aggregator to the Graveyard. He activated Ext as Chain Link 1, and Aggregator as Chain Link 2 to negate Bagooska. Ext put Sword in his hand, and he Special Summoned it to get Ice. He Normal Summoned Ice to Special Summon Star, and Star Set Ryzeal Cross on the field. He flipped it up, then stacked Ice and Ext for Ryzeal Detonator. Detonator attached Mereologic Aggregator as a material. Then he played Mitsurugi Ritual to bring Murakumo down from his hand, Tributing Saji and Kusanagi from his Deck. Murakumo destroyed all of Myson’s monsters, leaving him wide open for Luis’s monsters to end the Duel!

Duel 2

Luis had a hand of Node, Sword, Droll & Lock Bird, two copies of Mulcharmy Purulia.

Myson started with Prayers, Tributing Habakiri, and Luis Chained Purulia. Myson added Saji to his hand and Special Summoned it, letting Luis draw Aramasa. Myson used Saji’s and Habakiri’s effects, adding Mitsurugi Mirror and Murakumo to his hand. He sent Eclipse Twins to the Graveyard to Special Summon Ext, and Luis drew a second Droll & Lock Bird. Myson’s Ext put a Sword in his hand, and Luis activated his second Purulia. Myson stacked his monsters for Bagooska in Defense Position. He played Mitsurugi Mirror, Tributing Murakumo from his hand to Ritual Summon Habakiri from his Graveyard. Murakumo put Prayers in his hand. He Set two back row cards.

Luis drew an Ext. He Special Summoned it by sending Mereologic Aggregator to the Graveyard, activating Ext as Chain Link 1 and Aggregator as Chain Link 2, negating Bagooska. Ext put Sword in his hand. He Special Summoned Sword, adding Ice to his hand. He stacked his monsters for King of the Feral Imps, which put Habakiri in his hand. He activated Habakiri’s effect to Special Summon Saji and Tribute it, and Saji put Mitsurugi Ritual in his hand. He played it to Ritual Summon Habakiri from his hand, Tributing Kusanagi from the Deck and Aramasa from the hand. His Tributed monsters’ effects put Habakiri and Mitsurugi Ritual in his hand. He played Mitsurugi Ritual to Ritual Summon Murakumo from the Deck, Tributing his on-field Habakiri. He activated the Tributed Habakiri’s effect and Murakumo’s destructive effect, Myson Chained Effect Veiler, and Murakumo forced Myson to discard Sword Ryzeal to make Veiler resolve. Habakiri returned and put Prayers in Luis’s hand. He Normal Summoned Ice and brought Ext to the field. He stacked them for Detonator, which attached Mereologic Aggregator as a material. He Special Summoned Node, sending a card from the hand to revive Sword. He stacked those for Number 60: Dugares the Timeless, which doubled Detonator’s ATK.

He sent Murakumo to attack Myson’s Habakiri. King of the Feral Imps destroyed Bagooska in battle. Dugares and Habakiri attacked directly, dropping Myson to 3600 Life Points. Detonator attacked directly, and Myson flipped Prayers. Luis Chained Detonator to destroy Myson’s last card, a bluffed Pre-Preparation of Rites. Myson’s Prayers let him take 800 damage and revive Habakiri in Defense Position. That caused a replay on Detonator’s attack, and it destroyed Habakiri. Luis activated Mitsurugi Prayers, Tributing Murakumo to revive Kusanagi. Murakumo’s effect brought let it come back to the field, and it attacked directly to end the Match!

Luis H. is headed to the finals of the Dragon Duel Championship!
