Steven Wind from Long Beach, New York currently has a 6-0-2 record and Joe Vu from Buffalo, New York currently has a 7-1 record. Now, they’re facing off in this Round 9 Feature Match! Wind is using a Kashtira Regenesis Deck, while Vu is using an @Ignister Maliss Deck. Both Duelists are heavily relying on several new cards from Alliance Insight, but only one of them can win this Match. It’s time to Duel!

Duel One

Wind opened up Duel 1 with Regenesis Code, Regenesis Sage, Mulcharmy Fuwalos, and 2 copies of Regenesis.

He activated Regenesis Code in the Draw Phase and used its effect to Special Summon Regenesis Archfiend from his Deck. He used his Archfiend’s effect to add Regenesis Birth from his Deck to his hand. Next, he Special Summoned Regenesis Sage from his hand and then activated Regenesis to add Regenesis Warrior from his Deck to his hand. He Special Summoned the Warrior and then Set Regenesis Birth before ending his turn.

Vu Normal Summoned Maliss <P> White Rabbit and activated its effect. Wind flipped Regenesis Birth and sent Regenesis Dragon from his Deck to his Graveyard to put the White Rabbit face-down. The White Rabbit’s effect resolved to Set Maliss <C> TB-11 from Vu’s Deck to his field. Next, Vu Set a card to his back row and ended his turn. In the End Phase, Wind used his Warrior’s effect to Tribute Warrior and return the face-down White Rabbit to Vu’s hand. He also returned Warrior and Dragon from his Graveyard to his hand with their effects.

Wind switched his Archfiend and Sage into Attack Position and then Special Summoned Regenesis Dragon from his hand. He activated its effect by Tributing it to target Vu’s face-down Metaltronus and banish it. Next, he activated another Regenesis, and when Vu tried to negate its effect with Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, Vu Chained his Sage’s effect and Tributed the Regenesis to negate the activation of Ash Blossom’s effect and add Regenesis Lord from his Deck to his hand. He Special Summoned it by banishing Archfiend from his field and then Set Regenesis Code from his Deck with its effect. Next, he banished Code from his Graveyard to Special Summon his banished Archfiend and used his Archfiend’s effect to add a Code to his hand. He Special Summoned Warrior from his hand next. In the Main Phase, Vu activated the effect of his Maliss <P> March Hare. He banished White Rabbit from his hand to Special Summon the March Hare and then paid 300 Life Points to Special Summon the White Rabbit back to his field. Wind Chained his Birth’s effect to put March Hare face-down by sending Archfiend from his Deck to his Graveyard with Regenesis Birth. Vu activated his White Rabbit’s effect to Set a Trap Card, and Wind Chained his Warrior’s effect to return the White Rabbit to Vu’s hand before Vu Set Maliss <C> MTP-07 from his Deck to his field. Wind entered his Battle Phase and then attacked March Hare with Regenesis Lord, inflicting 4700 points of piercing damage!  Archfiend attacked next, and when Vu flipped TB-11, Wind negated its effect with Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. Direct attacks from Archfiend and Sage wiped out all of Vu’s Life Points!

Duel Two

Vu started off the second Duel by activating Terraforming to add Maliss in Underground from his Deck to his hand.

He activated it and used its effect to banish Maliss <P> Dormouse from his Deck. He paid 300 Life Points to activate its effect and Special Summon. He activated Dormouse’s effect to banish Maliss <P> White Rabbit from his Deck and then paid another 300 Life Points to Special Summon it. He activated its on-field effect, and when Wind Chained the effect of Mulcharmy Fuwalos, Vu Chained Called by the Grave to banish it and negate its effect. White Rabbit’s effect Set Maliss <C> GWC-06 from Vu’s Deck to his field. Next, Vu Normal Summoned Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. He sent all 3 monsters to the Graveyard to Link Summon Maliss <Q> White Binder and used White Binder’s effect to Set Maliss <C> TB-11 from his Deck to his field. He activated TB-11 by banishing White Binder and Special Summoned Maliss <P> Chessy Cat from his Deck. He paid 900 Life Points to Special Summon his banished White Binder and draw a card. Next, he sent his 2 monsters to the Graveyard to Link Summon Haggard Lizardose and used its effect by banishing Chessy Cat from his Graveyard. He paid 300 Life Points to Special Summon Chessy Cat and then Wind activated the effect of the Nibiru, the Primal Being in his hand. He Tributed all monsters on the field to Summon the Nibiru to his own field and Special Summon a Primal Being Token in Attack Position to Vu’s field with 2300 ATK and 300 DEF.

Wind drew Chaos Hunter and added it to his hand of Kashtira Fenrir, Regenesis, and Pressured Planet Wraitsoth. He activated Pressured Planet Wraitsoth and used its effect to add Kashtira Unicorn from his Deck to his hand. Next, he activated Regenesis, and Vu Chained Different Dimension Ground. It resolved, and Wind added Regenesis Archfiend from his Deck to his hand. He revealed Unicorn from his hand to Special Summon Regenesis Archfiend and used its effect to add Regenesis Code from his Deck to his hand. Vu flipped GWC-06 to Special Summon White Binder from his Graveyard and gain 2300 Life Points. He used White Binder’s effect to try to banish 2 cards from his own Graveyard and one from Wind’s, and when Wind Chained the effect of Chaos Hunter by discarding Fenrir from his hand, Vu Chained Dominus Impulse from his hand to negate the Hunter’s effect and destroy the Hunter! Vu banished his own Dormouse and White Rabbit, plus the Fuwalos in Wind’s Graveyard, and paid 300 Life Points per monster to Summon White Rabbit and Dormouse back to the field. He used White Rabbit’s effect to Set MTP-07 from his Deck. Vu entered his Battle Phase and attacked White Binder with Nibiru to destroy it. It was banished due to the effect of the Different Dimension Ground, so Vu paid 900 Life Points to Special Summon it back to his field and draw card. Next, Regenesis Archfiend attacked White Binder, and Vu flipped MTP-07 by banishing White Rabbit. He added March Hare from his Deck to his hand and banished Regenesis Archfiend. Still in his Battle Phase, he activated Regenesis Code. He Special Summoned Regenesis Warrior from his Deck and attacked White Binder to destroy it. In Main Phase 2, he Tribute Summoned Kashtira Unicorn by Tributing Warrior and Nibiru. He used its effect to add Kashtira Birth from his Deck to his hand, then activated it. He used Birth’s effect to Special Summon Kashtira Fenrir and then used Fenrir’s effect to add another Unicorn from his Deck to his hand.

Vu Normal Summoned March Hare and then used all 3 of his monsters to Link Summon Maliss <Q> Hearts Crypter. He activated the effect of the Backup @Ignister in his hand next to Special Summon it and activated its on-field effect as Chain Link 1. Wind Chained Unicorn’s effect as Chain Link 2, and Fenrir’s effect as Chain Link 3 targeting Hearts Crypter. Vu Chained Hearts Crypter’s effect as Chain Link 4, banishing the Hearts Crypter. Wind banished Accesscode Talker from the Extra Deck face-down with Unicorn’s effect, and Vu added Wizard @Ignister to his hand with the effect of the Backup before discarding a card. In a new Chain, Vu Special Summoned Hearts Crypter by paying 900  Life Points. Next, he activated the effect of Wizard to Special Summon it from his hand along with Dormouse from his Graveyard. He used Dormouse’s effect to banish White Rabbit from his Deck, then paid 300 Life Points to Special Summon White Rabbit. Vu Link Summoned Red Ransom and used its effect to add Maliss in the Mirror from his Deck to his hand. He activated Triple Tactics Thrust next, adding Triple Tactics Talent to his hand, and Wind used his Birth’s effect to banish 3 cards in Vu’s Graveyard face-down. Vu activated the Talent to take control of Fenrir and then switched it into Attack Position. He attacked Unicorn with Fenrir, and since Unicorn’s stats were adjusted by Red Ransom, both monsters were destroyed in battle. Direct attacks from Red Ransom, Hearts Crypter, and White Rabbit wiped out the rest of Wind’s Life Points!

The Match is going to a third and final Duel!

Duel Three

Wind opened up Duel 3 with Kashtira Unicorn, Effect Veiler, There Can Be Only One, Regenesis Code, and Regenesis Birth. Vu activated the effect of Purulia in the Draw Phase and then on its resolution, Wind activated Regenesis Code. Vu Chained the effect of Mulcharmy Fuwalos. Wind Special Summoned Regenesis Archfiend, allowing Vu to draw a card with Fuwalos’s effect, and Wind negated Archfiend’s effect with Infinite Impermanence. Wind Set 2 cards to his back row before passing his turn.

Vu activated Allure of Darkness to draw 2 cards and banish March Hare from his hand. He paid 300 Life Points to return it to his hand with its effect and then Normal Summoned White Rabbit. He activated its effect, and Wind Chained Regenesis Birth. He activated its effect by sending Regenesis Warrior from his Deck to his Graveyard and put the White Rabbit face-down. Vu Set GWC-06 with White Rabbit’s effect and then Set 2 more cards to his back row. In the End Phase, Archfiend was sent to the Graveyard due to the effect of Regenesis Code, and Wind used Archfiend’s effect to return the Archfiend from his Graveyard to his hand.

Wind Special Summoned Kashtira Unicorn and used its effect to add Kashtiratheosis from his Deck to his hand. He activated Regenesis to add Regenesis Sage from his Deck to his hand and then Special Summoned the Sage. Next, he revealed Warrior from his hand to Special Summon Archfiend and used Archfiend’s effect to add Regenesis Lord from his Deck to his hand. He banished the Archfiend to Special Summon Lord from his hand and used its effect to Set Regenesis Code from his Deck to his field. He entered his Battle Phase and then attacked Vu’s face-down monster with Lord. Vu flipped Infinite Impermanence to try to negate the Lord’s effect so that it couldn’t inflict piercing damage, but Wind used his Sage’s effect and negated its activation. Vu’s White Rabbit was destroyed and Vu lost 4600 Life Points. Wind attacked with Unicorn next, banishing Red Ransom from Vu’s Extra Deck face-down. Vu activated GWC-06 to Special Summon White Rabbit and activated its effect, but Wind put the Rabbit face-down with Regenesis Birth’s effect by sending Dragon from his Deck to his Graveyard. Time in the round was called, and with Vu down 8000 Life Points to 3000 Life Points, he offered the handshake.
