Duel One

Couch won the die roll and chose to go first. He started off the Match activating Seventh Tachyon in Main Phase 1 by revealing Number 104: Masquerade from his Extra Deck.

He added Ext Ryzeal from his Deck to his hand before returning a card from his hand to the top of his Deck, prompting Nocera to activate the effect of Droll & Lock Bird. Couch passed his turn with a clear field.

Nocera drew Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring and added it to his hand of Fiendsmith Engraver, Tenpai Dragon Genroku, Kashtira Fenrir, and another Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. Couch activated the effect of Mulcharmy Purulia from his hand in the Standby Phase, and Nocera negated it with Ash Blossom. Nocera Special Summoned Fenrir and used its effect to add Kashtira Riseheart to his hand. Next, he activated the effect of Fiendsmith Engraver by discarding it and added Fiendsmith’s Tract to his hand. He activated it to add Fabled Lurrie to his hand and discard it, then Special Summoned Lurrie from his Graveyard. He used Lurrie as a Link Material to Summon Fiendsmith’s Requiem and then Tributed Requiem to Special Summon Lacrima the Crimson Tears. He used Lacrima’s effect to send an Engraver from his Deck to his Graveyard, then Special Summoned an Engraver by returning a Lurrie from his Graveyard to his Deck. He equipped Lacrima with the Requiem in his Graveyard, then sent Lacrima and Requiem to the Graveyard to Special Summon Necroquip Princess. He combined Necroquip with Engraver to Xyz Summon D/D/D Wave High King Caesar and then Normal Summoned Genroku. He attacked with Fenrir, Wave High King Caesar, and Genroku, then Tributed Genroku to Special Summon Tenpai Dragon Paidra. He used its effect to add Sangen Kaimen to his hand and attacked with Paidra. Couch conceded, defeated in just a single turn.

Duel Two

Couch started off Duel 2 by Normal Summoning Ice Ryzeal and activating its effect to Special Summon Sword Ryzeal from his Deck. He used Sword’s effect to add Star Ryzeal from his Deck to his hand and then combined Sword with Ice to Xyz Summon Infernal Flame Banshee. He detached Sword to use the Banshee’s effect and add Ext Ryzeal to his hand. He Special Summoned Star Ryzeal from his hand by detaching the Banshee’s last Xyz Material and then used Star’s effect to Set Ryzeal Cross from his Deck. He flipped it up, then Special Summoned Ext from his hand by sending Eclipse Twins from his Extra Deck to his Graveyard. He used Ext’s effect to add Node Ryzeal to his hand and then combined Ext with Ice to Xyz Summon Ryzeal Duo Drive. He used its effect to attach Ice Ryzeal from his Graveyard to it as an Xyz Material, then Special Summoned Node Ryzeal from his hand. He used its effect to Special Summon Sword by sending his Banshee to the Graveyard and then combined Node with Sword to Xyz Summon Ryzeal Detonator. He used Detonator’s effect to attach Eclipse Twins to the Detonator as an Xyz Material and then used Duo Drive’s effect. He detached Ext and Ice from Duo Drive and added Ryzeal Plugin and Ryzeal Plasma Hole from his Deck to his hand. He used the effect of Cross to return 2 cards from his Graveyard to his Deck and draw a card, and then activated Bonfire to add Ice Ryzeal from his Deck to his hand. He Special Summoned Ice by sending Seventh Tachyon from his hand to his Graveyard and Set 4 cards to his back row.

Nocera opened up Duel 2 with Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion, Tenpai Dragon Chundra, Sangen Summoning, Fiendsmith Engraver, and Fiendsmith’s Tract. He drew Kashtira Fenrir for his turn and then activated Fiendsmith’s Tract to add Fabled Lurrie from his Deck to his hand and discard it. He activated its effect to Special Summon it and then sent it to the Graveyard to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Requiem. He Tributed the Requiem to activate its effect, and Couch negated the resolution of its effect with Ryzeal Cross by detaching an Xyz Material from Detonator. Next, Nocera Special Summoned Kashtira Fenrir. He activated its effect to add Kashtira Unicorn from his Deck to his hand and then discarded Engraver to activate its effect and add a Tract to his hand. He activated Sangen Summoning next, and Couch flipped Plasma Hole to destroy Fenrir and Sangen Summoning, and attach a Sword from his Graveyard to his Detonator. Next, Nocera Special Summoned Kashtira Unicorn and used its effect to add Kashtira Birth from his Deck to his hand. He activated it and Couch Chained his Detonator’s effect to destroy the Unicorn. Next, Couch flipped Plugin to Special Summon Sword from his Graveyard and attach Ext from his Deck to his Detonator as an Xyz Material. Couch used Sword’s effect to add Ext Ryzeal from his Deck to his hand. Nocera activated the effect of Birth, but Couch Chained his Detonator’s effect to destroy the Kashtira Birth. Finally, Nocera Normal Summoned Tenpai Dragon Chundra. He entered his Battle Phase, and Couch banished Plasma Hole from his Graveyard to Xyz Summon Number 103: Ragnazero by combining Sword and Ice. He used Ragnazero’s effect to destroy Chundra, whose Attack Points were reduced by the effect of the Duo Drive that had an Xyz Material attached. With his Chundra destroyed, Nocera finally conceded.

Dominic Couch wins the second Duel of the Match after a big first turn using his Ryzeal Deck! The Match is going to a third and final Duel!

Duel Three

Nocera opened up Duel 3 with Tenpai Dragon Chundra, Dimensional Barrier, Lacrima the Crimson Tears, Sangen Kaimen, and Tenpai Dragon Paidra.

In the Standby Phase, Couch activated the effect of Mulcharmy Purulia. Nocera Normal Summoned Lacrima the Crimson Tears in his Main Phase, allowing Couch to draw a card, and used Lacrima’s effect to send Engraver from his Deck to his Graveyard. He sent Lacrima to the Graveyard to Link Summon Requiem and then Tributed Requiem to activate its effect; but Couch negated it with the effect of Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring! Nocera Set Dimensional Barrier and Sangen Kaimen before ending his turn.

Couch Normal Summoned Ice Ryzeal and activated its effect, and Nocera Chained his Lacrima’s effect in his Graveyard to Special Summon Requiem by returning Lacrima to the Deck. Couch Special Summoned Star from his Deck and activated its effect, and Nocera Chained Requiem’s effect to Tribute it and Special Summon Lacrima from his Deck. Couch Set Ryzeal Cross from his Deck with Star’s effect, and in a new Chain, Lacrima sent Fiendsmith in Paradise from his Deck to his Graveyard with its effect. Next, Nocera flipped Dimensional Barrier, declaring “Xyz”, and then Couch flipped Ryzeal Cross. Couch attacked Lacrima with Ice to destroy it, and then attacked with Star Ryzeal. Nocera flipped Sangen Kaimen to add Tenpai Dragon Chundra to his hand and Special Summon Tenpai Dragon Chundra from his hand. In a new Chain, he used Genroku’s effect to Special Summon it. In Main Phase 2, Couch Set 3 cards to his back row and ended his turn. In the End Phase, Nocera activated his Genroku’s effect to Special Summon Tenpai Dragon Paidra from his Deck, and used Paidra’s effect to add Sangen Summoning from his Deck to his hand.

Nocera drew Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion and then Couch flipped There Can Be Only One! Nocera sent Paidra to his Graveyard so that he could keep his Chundra and then Special Summoned Engraver from his Graveyard by returning Requiem from his Graveyard to his Extra Deck. He attacked Star Ryzeal with Engraver, destroying both monsters in battle, then attacked directly with Chundra to drop Couch down to 6500 Life Points. He ended his turn with just a Chundra on his field.

Couch activated the effect of his Ryzeal Cross to try to return 2 cards from his Graveyard to his Deck and draw a card; but Nocera negated it with the effect of Ghost Belle. Next, Couch activated Seventh Tachyon. He revealed Number 104 from his Extra Deck and added Ext Ryzeal from his Deck to his hand before returning the other card in his hand to his Deck. He Special Summoned Ext by sending Mereologic Aggregator from his Extra Deck to his Graveyard, and then used the effects of Ext and Aggregator. He used Aggregator’s effect to negate There Can Be Only One and Ext’s effect to add Sword to his hand. He Special Summoned Sword and used its effect to add Ice to his hand, then combined Sword with Ext to Xyz Summon Ryzeal Detonator. He used Detonator’s effect to attach Eclipse Twins to it from the Graveyard as an Xyz Material, then Normal Summoned Ice Ryzeal. He used Ice’s effect to Special Summon Node Ryzeal and then combined Ice and Node to Xyz Summon Ryzeal Duo Drive. He used its effect to give another Xyz Material, then used its other effect to detach 2 Xyz Materials and add Plugin and Plasma Hole from his Deck to his hand. He activated Plugin to Special Summon Node and give Duo Drive an extra Xyz Material, and Nocera conceded.
