Round 1 Feature Match: Sebastian Obando vs. Jackson Morehouse

Sebastian Obando and Jackson Morehouse are both YCS first-timers and they’re excited to be competing here this weekend! Morehouse is a local Duelist from Houston, TX who took a 1-hour drive this morning to compete with his Gladiator Beast Deck. Obando, who recently moved to Houston, TX from Queens, NY, walked to the convention center from his apartment this morning, ready to compete with his Fiendsmith Trickstar Deck! Trickstar Decks got new support in the recently released Maze of the Master booster set, and Obando is using a lot of those new cards. Both local Duelists are using cool strategies, but only one can win this Match. It’s time to Duel!

Duel One

Morehouse opened up Duel 1 with Harpie’s Feather Storm, Test Bear, Gladiator Beast Gistel, Test Tiger, and Gladiator Rejection.

He activated the Rejection and then Normal Summoned Test Bear. He used the Bear’s effect by returning Gladiator Beast Gistel from his hand to his Deck and then Special Summoned Gladiator Beast Noxious and Gladiator Beast Gistel. He activated the effects of Noxious and Gistel. He used Noxious’s effect to send Gladiator Beast Equeste from his Deck to his Graveyard and used Gistel’s effect to add Gladiator Beast’s Comeback from his Deck to his hand. He used Comeback to Special Summon Equeste and then Special Summoned Test Tiger. He Tributed the Tiger and returned Gistel to his Deck to Special Summon Noxious. He used the effect of Noble Angel to add Maiden of Blue Tears to his hand and used the effect of Aqua Angel to look at Morehouse’s hand of Harpie’s Feather Storm, Gladiator Beast Noxious, Gladiator Beast’s Comeback, Test Tiger, and Test Bear. He used Noble Angel’s other effect to Special Summon Drumatis back from his Graveyard. Morehouse activated Proving Ground to add Gladiator Beast Gistel from his Deck to his hand and then used Gistel’s effect to Special Summon Gistel and Noxious. He used the effects of Gistel and Noxious as Chain Links 1 and 2, and then Obando Chained Maiden of Blue Tears. Obando Chained the Requiem’s effect and then everything resolved.
