Round 2 Feature Match: Oscar Alexis Vargas Martinez vs. Paulo Roberto Goncalves da Silva

Sixteen Duelists are competing in the Undisputed UDS Championship Tournament, and thirteen of them, including Paulo Roberto Goncalves da Silva from Brazil, are using FIRE-based strategies. Oscar Vargas from Mexico, however, is using a Kashtira strategy that has been drastically altered since Kashtira Arise-Heart joined the Forbidden List. Vargas is using lots of tech cards like Dimension Shifter in his Deck, and he’s hoping those cards will be enough to help him defeat FIRE Decks in the tournament this weekend. Both of these Duelists are currently 1-0 in the tournament, and they’re looking for a second win in this Swiss Round to bring them closer to a Top Cut finish. It’s time to Duel!

Goncalves drew a card for his turn and Vargas activated Dimension Shifter’s effect in the Standby Phase. In the Main Phase, Goncalves activated Bonfire and used its effect to add Snake-Eye Ash from his Deck to his hand. He passed his turn with no further play.

Vargas drew a Kashtira Riseheart and then activated another Wraitsoth; but Goncalves negated its effect with another Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, leaving Vargas with only the Riseheart in his hand! He Normal Summoned the Riseheart and Goncalves used his Divine Temple’s effect to Special Summon his Flamberge Dragon. Vargas activated Riseheart’s effect by banishing a Kashtira Unicorn from his Deck and banished the top 3 cards of Goncalves’s Deck.
