11-year-old Zephry N. from Tennessee and 14-year-old Jackson B. from Kentucky are both currently 2-0 in the 2024 North America Dragon Duel Championship. Zephry made the Top 8 of both of the Dragon Duel Last Chance Qualifiers held yesterday, and now she’s back with her Fiendsmith Snake-Eye Deck . Jackson is using a similar Deck empowered by The Infinite Forbidden, but only one of them can advance undefeated. It’s time to Duel!

Zephry opened up Duel 1 with Droll & Lock bird, Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, Fiendsmith Engraver, Bonfire, and Snake-Eyes Oak.

She activated Bonfire and used its effect to add Snake-Eye Ash from her Deck to her hand. She Normal Summoned it and activated its effect to add Snake-Eyes Poplar from her Deck to her hand. She activated its effect in her hand to Special Summon it and then activated its on-field effect to add Divine Temple of the Snake-Eye from her Deck to her hand. She activated the Divine Temple and used its effect to place Snake-Eyes Diabellstar from her Deck into her back row. She used Ash’s effect to send it to the Graveyard along with Diabellstar and Special Summon Oak from her hand. She used Oak’s effect to Special Summon Ash and then Link Summoned Moon of the Closed Heaven. She used Poplar’s effect to place Snake-Eyes Diabellstar in her back row and then used the Moon to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Requiem. She used Requiem’s effect to Special Summon Fiendsmith Engraver and then used Requiem’s effect in the Graveyard to equip it to Engraver. She activated Oak’s effect to send it to the Graveyard along with Requiem and Special Summon Snake-Eyes Flamberge Dragon and then used Diabellstar’s effect to Special Summon it and put Oak into her back row. She Link Summoned Fiendsmith’s Sequence next and used Sequence’s effect to fuse Moon and Requiem from her Graveyard and Summon Fiendsmith’s Lacrima. She used Lacrima’s effect to add Engraver from her Graveyard to her hand and then used Engraver’s effect by discarding it to add Fiendsmith’s Tract from her Deck to her hand. She activated the Tract to add Fabled Lurrie from her Deck to her hand and discard it. She then used Lurrie’s effect to Special Summon it and sent it to the Graveyard along with Flamberge Dragon to Link Summon I:P Masquerena. She used Flamberge Dragon’s effect to Special Summon Poplar and Ash back from her Graveyard and then Special Summoned Engraver from her Graveyard by returning Lurrie from her Graveyard to her Deck. She banished Tract from her Graveyard to Fusion Summon Fiendsmith’s Desirae and then sent Masquerena and Poplar to the Graveyard to Link Summon Promethean Princess, Bestower of Flames. She used the Princess’s effect to Special Summon Flamberge Dragon and then used Flamberge’s effect to put Masquerena into her back row. She equipped Desirae with the Fiendsmith’s Sequence in her Graveyard and then used Desirae’s effect to negate the effect of Promethean Princess and then send the Princess and Ash to the Graveyard to Link Summon Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess.

Jackson Special Summoned Diabellstar the Black Witch from his hand by sending a Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit from his hand to his Graveyard and then used Diabellstar’s effect to Set Original Sinful Spoils – Snake-Eye from his Deck to his field. Next, he Normal Summoned Snake-Eyes Poplar and activated its effect, but lost out to the effect of Apollousa. He sent Diabellstar and Poplar to the Graveyard to Link Summon Hiita the Fire Charmer, Ablaze. He used Poplar’s effect to try to put Poplar into his back row and Zephry Chained Flamberge Dragon’s effect to Special Summon I:P Masquerena. Zephry used her Masquerena’s effect once it hit the field, and sent it to the Graveyard along with Flamberge Dragon to Link Summon S:P Little Knight. She used Little Knight’s effect to banish Hiita and used Flamberge Dragon’s effect to Special Summon Ash and Poplar. She used Ash’s effect to add another Ash to her hand and used Poplar’s effect to add Original Sinful Spoils to her hand. Jackson activated Original Sinful Spoils by sending Poplar to the Graveyard, but Zephry used Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring to negate its effect! Jackson conceded, unable to fight through Zephry’s field!

Duel Two

Jackson started off Duel 2 by Normal Summoning Snake-Eye Ash and activating its effect to add Snake-Eyes Poplar to his hand.

He Special Summoned it and then used its effect to add Divine Temple of the Snake-Eyes to his hand. He activated the Divine Temple and placed Snake-Eyes Diabellstar from his Deck into his back row. He used his Ash’s effect to send it to the Graveyard along with Diabellstar and Special Summon Snake-Eyes Oak from his Deck. He used Oak’s effect to Special Summon Ash and then sent Ash and Poplar to the Graveyard to Link Summon Moon of the Closed Heaven. He used Poplar’s effect to put Diabellstar into his back row and then sent Moon to the Graveyard to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Requiem. He Tributed Requiem to Special Summon Engraver and then equipped the Requiem to Engraver. He used Oak’s effect to send it to the Graveyard along with Requiem and Special Summon Flamberge Dragon. Then he sent Flamberge Dragon and Requiem to the Graveyard to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Sequence. He used Flamberge Dragon’s effect to Special Summon Oak and Ash and then used Sequence’s effect to return Requiem and Moon to the Extra Deck and Summon Fiendsmith’s Lacrima. He targeted Engraver with Lacrima’s effect and Zephry used the effect of the Druiswurm in her hand to banish the Engraver and Special Summon Druiswurm to her field. Jackson sent Ash and Sequence to the Graveyard to Link Summon S:P Little Knight and used Little Knight’s effect to banish Druiswurm. Next, he sent Little Knight and Oak to the Graveyard to Link Summon Promethean Princess, Bestower of Flames. He activated her effect to Special Summon Flamberge Dragon from his Graveyard in Defense Position and then used Flamberge Dragon’s effect to put S:P Little Knight from his Graveyard into his back row. Next, he Special Summoned Snake-Eyes Diabellstar from his back row and put a Snake-Eye Oak in its place. He sent Oak and Lacrima to the Graveyard to Link Summon Hiita and then sent Hiita and Diabellstar to the Graveyard to Link Summon Selene, Queen of the Master Magicians. He added Spell Counters to Selene, then removed them to Special Summon Diabellstar. He sent Selene and Diabellstar to the Graveyard to Link Summon Apollousa and then Set a card to his back row before ending his turn.

Zephry drew Diabellstar the Black Witch and added it to her hand of Crossout Designator, Lightning Storm, Snake-Eyes Diabellstar, and Fabled Lurrie. She activated Lightning Storm to destroy all of Jackson’s Spell & Trap Cards, and Jackson Chained his Flamberge Dragon’s effect to Special Summon Little Knight. Next, Zephry sent Snake-Eyes Diabellstar from her hand to her Graveyard to Special Summon the Black Witch and used her Witch’s effect. Jackson banished the Diabellstar and Little Knight with Little Knight’s effect and Zephry Set Original Sinful Spoils – Snake-Eye from her Deck. She Normal Summoned Lurrie and used Original Sinful Spoils – Snake-Eye by sending Lurrie to the Graveyard. Jackson tried negating it with Ash Blossom, but Zephry Chained Crossout Designator! She Special Summoned Snake-Eye Ash and activated its effect, but lost out to Apollousa. She then sent Ash to the Graveyard to Link Summon Relinquished Anima pointing to Apollousa and used Anima’s effect; but Jackson negated it by giving up Apollousa’s last 800 Attack Points. She attacked Apollousa with Anima, but neither monster was destroyed since they both had 0 ATK! In the End Phase, Little Knight and the Black Witch returned to the field.

Jackson Normal Summoned Snake-Eye Ash and used its effect to add another Snake-Eye Ash from his Deck to his hand. He switched Flamberge Dragon into Attack Position and used its effect to put Diabellstar the Black Witch into the Spell & Trap Card Zone. He used Ash’s effect by sending it to the Graveyard along with his Apollousa and Special Summoned Poplar from his hand. He used Poplar’s effect to add Original Sinful Spoils – Snake-Eye from his Deck to his hand. Next, he sent Flamberge Dragon and Poplar to the Graveyard to Link Summon Moon of the Closed Heaven and used Flamberge Dragon’s effect to Special Summon Oak and Ash. He used Oak’s effect to Special Summon another Ash and then sent Moon to the Graveyard to Link Summon Requiem. He Tributed Requiem to Special Summon Engraver and then equipped Engraver with the Requiem in his Graveyard. He used Engraver’s effect to send Anima to the Graveyard and then sent both copies of Ash to the Graveyard to Link Summon Knightmare Phoenix. He used Phoenix’s effect to destroy the Diabellstar in Zephry’s back row and then attacked directly with Little Knight, Engraver, Phoenix, and Oak, dropping Zephry down to 1800 Life Points.

Zephry drew WANTED: Seeker of Sinful Spoils and then banished Original Sinful Spoils from her Graveyard and returned a Diabellstar from her Graveyard to her Deck to add Snake-Eye Ash from her Deck to her hand. She Normal Summoned it and Jackson used Little Knight’s effect to banish the Little Knight and Ash. Zephry added Poplar to her hand and Special Summoned it. She used Poplar’s effect to add Divine Temple to her hand and then activated it to put Snake-Eyes Diabellstar into her back row. She activated WANTED: Seeker of Sinful Spoils next, adding a Diabellstar the Black Witch to her hand. She banished WANTED from her Graveyard and returned Original Sinful Spoils to her Deck to draw Harpie’s Feather Duster. Next, she sent Snake-Eyes Diabellstar to her Graveyard to Special Summon Diabellstar the Black Witch and used her effect to Set Original Sinful Spoils from her Deck to her field. She sent Poplar and Diabellstar to the Graveyard to Summon Hiita and then used Poplar’s effect to put Snake-Eyes Diabellstar into her back row. On Hiita’s Summon, Jackson used his Promethean Princess’s effect to destroy his own Oak and Zephry’s Hiita. Zephry used Hiita’s effect to add a Snake-Eye Ash to her hand and then attacked Promethean Princess, pushing both monsters into the back row with the effect of Snake-Eyes Diabellstar. In Main Phase 2, she used Diabellstar’s effect to Special Summon it and put Ash from her Graveyard into her back row. In the End Phase, Little Knight and Ash returned to the field.

Jackson used Requiem’s effect in his Graveyard to equip it to his Engraver and then used Engraver’s effect to send his Requiem and the Snake-Eyes Diabellstar to the Graveyard. Next, Jackson activated WANTED and used its effect to add Diabellstar the Black Witch from his Deck to his hand. He Special Summoned Diabellstar by sending Promethean Princess from his back row to his Graveyard, and Zephry Special Summoned Ash to her field with the effect of Divine Temple. Jackson Set a WANTED from his Deck with the Black Witch’s effect and Zephry used Ash’s effect, prompting Jackson to banish Ash and Little Knight with Little Knight’s effect. Zephry added Poplar to her hand and Special Summoned it, but Jackson used his Promethean Princess’s effect to Special Summon the Princess and destroy the Poplar on Zephry’s field. Jackson’s field of monsters wiped out Zephry’s last 1800 Life Points.

Duel Three

Zephry opened up Duel 3 with Bonfire, Forbidden Droplet, Fiendsmith Engraver, Divine Temple of the Snake-Eye, and Original Sinful Spoils – Snake-Eye. She activated Bonfire to add Snake-Eye Ash to her hand, prompting Jackson to use the effect of Droll & Lock Bird. She Summoned Ash and then activated Divine Temple, using its effect to put Snake-Eyes Diabellstar into her back row. She activated Original Sinful Spoils to send Diabellstar to the Graveyard and Special Summon Poplar and then used Ash’s effect to send it to the Graveyard along with Poplar and Special Summon Oak. She activated Oak’s effect, but lost out to Infinite Impermanence. She put Snake-Eyes Diabellstar into her back row with Poplar’s effect and then used Diabellstar’s effect to Special Summon it and put Ash into her back row in its place. Next, Zephry sent her two monsters to the Graveyard to Link Summon S:P Little Knight and Set Forbidden Droplet.

Jackson activated WANTED in the Standby Phase and added Diabellstar the Black Witch to his hand. He Special Summoned it by sending Ash Blossom from his hand to his Graveyard and used its effect. Zephry used Divine Temple’s effect to Special Summon Ash from her back row. Jackson used the Black Witch’s effect to Set WANTED from his Deck to his field and Zephry added Poplar to her hand with Ash’s effect. She Special Summoned it with Poplar’s effect. Next, Jackson Normal Summoned Effect Veiler and activated Original Sinful Spoils – Snake-Eye. He sent Veiler to the Graveyard and Special Summoned Ash. Zephry used Forbidden Droplet to negate Ash’s effect by sending Poplar to the Graveyard and used Poplar’s effect to put a Snake-Eyes Diabellstar into her back row. Jackson activated Bonfire to add Poplar to his hand and then used Poplar’s effect to Special Summon it to his field. He used Poplar’s effect to add an Original Sinful Spoils to his hand and then attacked Little Knight with Diabellstar. Zephry lost 900 Life Points, and then time in the round was called!

At the end of the Battle Phase, Jackson was up by 900 Life Points and declared the winner!
